The United States will pledge $400 million in aid to Kosovo next week at a donors conference expected to raise more than $1 billion for the newly independent state, a senior U.S. official said on Wednesday.....
The Bush administration requested the bulk of its pledge from the U.S. Congress more than a year ago, well before Kosovo declared independence, out of a certainty that the region would need financial help whenever it declared independence.

Quit calling this country a democracy, that’s a dirty word!
And I see that you are frightened by the truth and attack those who dare speak it.
"The Kosovo-Albanians have played us like a Stradivarius. We have subsidized and indirectly supported their violent campaign for an ethnically pure and independent Kosovo. We have never blamed them for being the perpetrators of the violence in the early '90s and we continue to portray them as the designated victim today in spite of evidence to the contrary. When they achieve independence with the help of our tax dollars combined with those of bin Laden and al-Qaeda, just consider the message of encouragement this sends to other terrorist-supported independence movements around the world. Funny how we just keep digging the hole deeper!"Maj-Gen. Lewis MacKenzie
The truth is he was bought-and-paid-for by a Serbian lobby group for only $15,000.
Hardly an objective opinion. Try again.
So he got a speaker’s fee, is that all you’ve got?
I double-dare you to call him a liar to his face then!
Far more than a speaker’s fee.
Now it sounds like YOU’RE the one who’s afraid of the truth.
Pffft! That's a mediocre speaker's fee in the US! Guys that do speeches at High School Graduations pull down more than that! LOL!

...we’ll just keep paying the dhimmi tax so they won’t turn on us....yet....
Wow, thanks for that data! I didn't know all that much has been spent -- and add to that our cost for the 1999 NATO Bombing, the cost of building Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo or the cost of maintaining troops there!
The real jizya is actually much higher than these numbers -- and just what are we getting out of this? Because 9/11 happened AFTER we bombed the Serbs for them, so we aren't even getting "protection"!

There, fixed it!
You've obviously never tried to do any kind fund-raising among American Serbs. If McKenzie got a whopping $15,000 in speakers fees, it was a one-time big deal effort to raise it. American Serbs make the Scots look like "spendthrifts" when it comes to the kind of fund-raising you are talking about, which is partly why they have been so poor at getting their message across.
On the other side of the issue, the Albanians had a mafia that was more than willing to open their very large, narco-sex slaving purses on their behalf, because Kosovo was the center of their trade.
Today's Kosovo is the largest money-laundering center in the world -- not just for the Albanian mafia, but also for EU and US politicians and their business cronies. They collectively take millions (billions) of our tax dollars, pour it into Kosovo, and yet nothing there changes for the better. Kosovo still only has power for a few hours a day, almost 50% of the population are still unemployed, new mosques are sprouting like weeds and the handful of ridiculously rich are building larger houses, but the majority of residents are living in abject poverty. It's a joke -- a very bad joke -- at US & EU taxpayers expense!
Check out this video made for Greek TV before Kosovo declared independence, on Kosovo's economic viability as an independent state. It's subtitled in English and it points out the level of corruption. Most of the people in it are Albanians and they speak their mind.
What’s a few hundred million here or there, when you must play the ‘chess games’ played by the liberals at the foggy bottom who are destroying our country and those we seek to help with their idiocy.
Seeking to play God around the world is always counterproductive, let these third world backwater countries rot on their own without our ‘help’.
Ah, but it's worse than that -- Kosovo is our own little personal Frankenstein that we helped create, beginning with the 1999 NATO Bombing of Yugoslavia and culminating with illegally ripping off a piece of Serbia and recognizing it as "a new country" called Kosovo this last February. We didn't just find this new place to throw money at, we created it -- as the single largest money-laundering operation in the world! Politicians in the EU and US throw our tax dollars into the Kosovo pot and then they personally take a cuts home for themselves and their cronies.
Ain't "spreading democracy" wonderful?
"Organized by the European Commission, the conference is to be held in Brussels Friday with the target of raising EUR1.4 billion for Kosovo expenditure in 2009- 2011....Donors have already contributed around EUR3.0 billion to Kosovo since ...1998-1999....That was in addition to funding from the U.N., which has pumped almost as much money in to service its interim mission in Kosovo, known as UNMIK, since the conflict."
That's about $12.4 Billion, if anyone is counting. And that doesn't count the cost of the NATO Bombing, or Serbia's cost in still maintaining about 250,000 refugees (of ALL ethnicities -- Serb, Roma, Gorani & even other Albanians) that NATO & the KLA permanently drove out of Kosovo.
