"Seeking to play God around the world is always counterproductive, let these third world backwater countries rot on their own without our ‘help’"

Ah, but it's worse than that -- Kosovo is our own little personal Frankenstein that we helped create, beginning with the 1999 NATO Bombing of Yugoslavia and culminating with illegally ripping off a piece of Serbia and recognizing it as "a new country" called Kosovo this last February. We didn't just find this new place to throw money at, we created it -- as the single largest money-laundering operation in the world! Politicians in the EU and US throw our tax dollars into the Kosovo pot and then they personally take a cuts home for themselves and their cronies.

Ain't "spreading democracy" wonderful?

Kosovo Pins Economic Hopes On Donors' Conference

"Organized by the European Commission, the conference is to be held in Brussels Friday with the target of raising EUR1.4 billion for Kosovo expenditure in 2009- 2011....Donors have already contributed around EUR3.0 billion to Kosovo since ...1998-1999....That was in addition to funding from the U.N., which has pumped almost as much money in to service its interim mission in Kosovo, known as UNMIK, since the conflict."

That's about $12.4 Billion, if anyone is counting. And that doesn't count the cost of the NATO Bombing, or Serbia's cost in still maintaining about 250,000 refugees (of ALL ethnicities -- Serb, Roma, Gorani & even other Albanians) that NATO & the KLA permanently drove out of Kosovo.
