FBI Chief Unhappy With Supreme Court Ruling
kwtx.com ^ | July 1, 2008 | NA

The director of the FBI is not happy with the Supreme Court's recent handgun ruling.

Robert Mueller says he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."

Mueller said the high court's decision, which threw out a handgun ban in Washington, D.C., "does throw a lot of things up in the air."

Mueller said communities will now have to decide their own licensing programs.

Mueller was speaking at a convention of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in Hartford, Connecticut.

He says with his grandchildren going to college, he hopes "those campuses will be weapons-free."

There once was a despot named Mueller;

Who wanted to be supreme ruler;

Defend the Constitution he swore;

But he lied to the corps;

That’s why he’s called “Mueller the Fooler.”

Excellent idea except for the “no security detail.” He knows too much to be running around loose where Al Qaida could pick his dumb ass up.

BTW, I heard on the news that Cheney signed on to a separate amicus brief...I think it was the one that McCain and 50 other Senators signed. It also argued for the 2nd as an individual right with the people being the intended militia.

His proctologist confirms that Mueller’s head is still firmly stuck.

A government - its domestic intelligence services no less - wishes its "subjects" disarmed? For our own good?

It is especially sad that one of the FBI's EXPLICIT mandates, and indeed on of its advertised "priorities", is the protection of our civil rights. Think carefully about that in one context in particular - we entrusted the FBI with expanded powers afforded by the Patriot Act. One should ponder how many of our "leaders" and "protectors" think the second amendment (and even the first) is an inconvenient historical artifact that we would all be better off without.

I would be fine with ditching pretty much any federal law enforcement agency (except the Marshals) but how would we handle legitimate federal enforcement in that case?

Get the local sheriff to do it, that's how it used to be done. Marshals would enforce the law in territories without elected sheriffs, and they would enforce the orders of federal courts, just like they often do now. Since in most places the sheriff is elected, he won't be enforcing any federal laws which most of his electorate think are unconstitutional.

Remember at Ruby Ridge it was the federal marshals who fired the first shots (at the dog!). Of course the Marshals were lied to by the BATFE, but if they've not learned to not trust those bad apples, they deserve whatever comes from believing them. Same thing happened, to a lessor extent, to the FBI at Waco.

That is why gun rights were so hotly debated by the left. Government that appears to be quickly becoming Fascist can be eradicated by our own population before we have another Adolph. The nice part of that is that I have friends in the military and those retired. They now view members of this government as a fifth column. Let’s hope the tree of liberty can be refreshed with voting rights at some point...

The damage has already been done. America will take ten years to recover economically enouugh for us to innovate in advanced technology. The bad guys have what they and have so since 1997.

In between, our enemies smell our weakness and unfortunately will likely have to test our resolve on a massive scale vs. there’s.

Is there nothing new under the sun when it comes to human nature, pride and the downfall and ever perpetuating cycle?

Robert Mueller says he tends to believe that "weapons harm people, and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."

More often than not? He Bueller... care to cite some stats on that "more often than not" hyperbole. What are there, 20 million permit holders nationwide? Say 10% carry regularly. So Bueller, where is the stat that shows that guns "more often than not they harmed" the two million permit holders carrying concealed. I'm not seeing a million permit holders who have been harmed by their guns. Oh wait, that's because Bueller is lying...

One could have quite legitimately expected another Souter like his brilliant father gave us.

Bush I also gave us Thomas.
