Heller v DC Decision Tommorrow Morning : Will DC, VA, and MD FREEPERS be at SCOTUS
vanity | June 25, 2008 | the eagle has landed

Posted on 06/25/2008 8:26:53 PM PDT by TheEaglehasLanded

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of terrorists to get access to our courts, illegal aliens can stay even when they agree to leave, and ruled in favor of child rapists.

Based on this I wouldn't put it passed them to rule against law abiding gun owners if they ruled against an 8 year old rape victim!!

well, stay tuned. I hope that they interpret the plain meaning of the words of the 2nd amendment, that the people have the right to keep and bear arms, regardless of whether they are part of the national guard or police.

Agreed. The pro-child-rape ruling was totally without Constitutional basis and was frankly totally jaw dropping. The libs on the SCOTUS have done more damage to the Court’s standing as an impartial body in two weeks than any other Court has EVER done. They have become simply another part of the leftist political machine, and the four real Constitutionalists are powerless to do anything about it.

With that in mind, I wouldn’t be too shocked if they ruled that the 2nd itself was unconstitutional. What, can’t happen because it is nonsensical? So was the pro-child-rape ruling.

From the Washington Compost, an exerpt. A chance for FREEPERS to protest Mayor of DC.

Supreme Court Gun Ban Ruling Expected Tomorrow
The U.S. Supreme Court today did not release its long-awaited ruling on whether the District’s handgun ban violates the Second Amendment. That means the potentially landmark decision will almost certainly come tomorrow morning when the court is planning to issue the last of its rulings for the term. The case, District of Columbia v. Heller, which was argued nearly four months ago, could settle the decades-old debate over whether the Second Amendment grants individuals the right to own firearms.

Mayor Adrain M. Fenty is planning to hold a news conference at the John A. Wilson Building after the decision is announced.

I have deep fears concerning this ruling. The United States Constitution may very well cease to exist tomorrow. If the ruling takes our second amendment away, then what?

My bet: Individual right; strict scrutiny review; DC ban violates Constitution; Castle Doctine for everyone.

Will this be the decision that FINALLY puts “We the people” over the edge of government insanity?

We need to start a national campaign much like Newt’s “DRILL HERE, DRILL NOW” campaign.

I suggest this new campaign be simply called “ENOUGH!”

Enough legislative and judicial tryanny.

Enough catering to lobbyists and special interest and outright ignoring the will of the vast majority.

Enough partisan gridlock.

Enough running us into debt so far that even if we started paying 50% of our income in taxes that not even our great great grandchildren will have finished paying it off.

Enough treating our countries founding documents as mere suggestions.

I could go on and on.

Ya’ll feel free to continue to add to this list.

Have you been watching the Supreme Court the last 2 weeks? Castle Doctrine for Everyone, no way. We could see Kennedy join the 4 libs saying DC ban is Constitutional even if ruled individual right.

I have heard the Appelate Court wrote their opinion to try to box in the libs, they they would have to reverse the basis for other rulings to rule against Heller. Hey, these our left-wing marxists and they rule however the HELL THEY WANT.

I have heard Lautenburg has been challenged in violation of ex-post facto law.

Not me. I have to go to class tomorrow morning.

Screw the leftists. They can say whatever they want to say, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's true.

I’ve been terrified about this case since the Supreme Court ruled on Eminent Domain and said it was OK for governments to take private property for private use. They are pulling law out of thin are with no Constitutional basis.

That said, I don’t think we will ever have a better time for this case. Obama will replace old liberals with young radical socialists, so it is not like we stand a better change next decade or the next.

I say bring it on. I can only see an upside here as governments have been continually treating the 2A as if it does not protect an individual right, anyway.

I am a lot more confident in a positive outcome due to the language “the right of the people” being shared by the 1st, 2nd and 4th Amendments. It is just flat impossible for the commie rat bast lib scum suckers on the Supreme Court to pretend “the right of the people” is collective in the 2nd, but individual everywhere else.

They are boxed in and they know it.

I won't be surprised if the SCOTUS liberals reinstate DC's gun ban.

Since you can't tax a right, all fees/taxes for ccw, and class 3 weapons will have to be abolished..

Once again, the Post got it wrong. The 2nd Amendment does not grant rights, it guarantees rights endowed by the creator ...

While I pray otherwise; I see SCOTUS screwing us on this one. And I see it leading to a lot of liberal legislation aimed at taking guns away permanently. It’ll be the day our nation becomes terminally ill.

The Compost is right. Our rights come from the Nine Supremes and their word is law.
