Thousands of primary pupils were prevented from making Father's Day cards at school for fear of embarrassing classmates who live with single mothers and lesbians.
The politically correct policy was quietly adopted at schools "in the interests of sensitivity" over the growing number of lone-parent and same-sex households.

And birthday cards are out of the question, since, for 99% of the kids, they will have a different birthday than the kid being honored.

To the “it can’t happen here” crowd.
I don’t care.
If the intent is there, it must be exposed so that we can make sure “it can’t happen here”.
There are those in Congress who intend to make America completely socialist. The intent is there, and we can’t just shrug it off because it’s unlikely to be implemented.

Some lefty private schools have had this sort of policy for years. Probably some government schools too, given the absence of fathers in some parts of the country, and they just haven’t announced it to the news.

So I guess they need to make a generic “parents day”, and get rid of both fathers and mothers day. What’s next? No Christmas? Oh yeah, they’re already getting rid of that too. :(
To: grjr21
If the kids were making the cards during a 'free' art time (where kids are allowed to draw whatever they want), then the school has no business forbidding them from doing so. I can see the school not setting aside time specifically to make fathers day cards, although their reasoning is a bit silly.
At least the school (so far) can't stop the kids from making dad a card at home.

Whose wages will they garnish then?
That's easy. There will just be an additional tax on males, since males are singularly responsible for high crime, fatherless children, and that's wrong in the world.
The saddest part of all is I know there are some people that have put forth that line of reasoning already.

Why are they making “Father’s Day Cards” in school in the first place??

That actually happened a few town overs in a class that had a Jehova’s Witness in it.
