The real Stonehenge was supposed to be much bigger, but the guy who drew up the plans accidentally used feet instead of yards, and the stone carvers made everything too small. Boy, was he humiliated when his friends saw it!

They aren’t funny in my book... though I know millions of freepers differ on that. I’d be a millionaire if I had a dime for every allusion to them.

The US Military discontinued rigid airships in the 30’s. They used blimps (mostly out of Lakehurst) until fairly recently (60’s?).

The one in the picture was exposed to overpressure in the Hood test in Nevada. There is footage in Peter Kuran’s “Trinity and Beyond”.
