WASHINGTON, June 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- American Solutions for Winning the Future announced today that one million Americans have signed the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition urging Congress to immediately start drilling for American oil to lower gas prices.
The petition reads:
"We, therefore, the undersigned citizens of the United States, petition the U.S. Congress to act immediately to lower gasoline prices (and diesel and other fuel prices) by authorizing the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries."
"The voices of one million Americans are sending a clear message to Congress that we can do more with our huge energy resources here at home," said Newt Gingrich, American Solutions' General Chairman. "With hard-working Americans struggling to pay for soaring gas and diesel prices, it's likely gas prices will be the defining issue in November. Our elected officials have a simple choice: Either take action to drill here and drill now for American oil or the American people will take action this fall."

I hope this works. It’s going to take a lot to change the minds of the idiot Dems. Remember, the whacked out-socialist, enviromentilist groups are lining their pockets so they’re afraid that if they vote for offshore drilling they might not get their money from these groups anymore.
Meanwhile 50 Million Americans sharpen their pitchforks, shred pillows for feathers and boil tar...
Now if each of those signers enclosed a few hundred bucks for their congress critter it might have some effect.
As well it should be.
But Obama thinks it okay for Americans to suffer this, and and any number of other calamaties.
THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA
Finally - the people are speaking....
The Demonrats: eat cake - and walk.
Now that's an image I can hold onto.
Not only oil, earmarks, corruption, pork all incumbents should be voted out.
I’ll do my part none of them are worth saving.

Maybe.
Once they actually have the money, do they care?
Still, I think you’re onto something.
Suppose each signer put a couple bucks in an escrow account? Allow drilling and you get the money in escrow, don’t, and it reverts to the petitioners.
Probably illegal as all get-out, but with that kind of money on the table, I bet the laws could be changed on a voice vote on any given day congress is in session.
When do we march?
What's he running for? Or from?
Liberalism believes only in things that don't make any sense. To support things that do make sense means that you're not "objective."
This is the line of reasoning that makes them so certain they are "smart."
Right now? Probably little guys with pitchforks...
Well, it wouldn't hurt those fine, patriotic folks {God Bless 'em} to sign the petition, too.
This is a great plan and I appreciate Newt for doing it - but I think it’s going to take more than this. I think that folks like us - everyday Americans - are going to need to *talk* to their neighbors, family and friends - to really communicate and educate others about this issue. I really think it’s going to take us reaching out (in a respectful way) beyond our normal comfort zone to help others understand why we have such high gas prices and what can be done to lower them.
Ah. Liberals are like Luna Lovegood.
They only believe in things that don’t have any proof.
We signed the petition, but then I heard that on-line petetions do not have any “pull” when presented to Congress. Did I hear right? Anyone?
