A well-connected authority in the evangelical world said in an interview this week that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama could get up to 40 percent of the evangelical vote.

McCain has some splainin to do to evangelicals, that is for sure. He needs to leave out the attitude and bridge the gap when it comes to all conservatives, and then follow through on his word to them.
And as for evangelical choices, it would be better to leave the space blank than vote for the false messiah.
Maybe, but McCain sure hasn’t helped himself much in this regard.
Sure, Obama is pro-abortion, but will McCain even have the guts to make it an issue? My guess is that he won’t because it will hurt his Independent/Democrat voter outreach.
My prediction is that many of them will stay home and not vote at all. That holds true for many voter blocs. It is hard to find anyone who is enthused about this election. Many will turn out to vote out of duty but most people need a positive compelling reason to get out and vote. This election may have the lowest turnout in a very long time.
Yes, same here.
Those issues may up the voter turnout, we have some initiated measures here that will need a good turnout.
Yeah, black evangelicals!
No way. Many evangelicals vote along stricter lines than Catholics. Read these links.

Yeah, McCain has shown about as much enthusiasm towards evangelicals as he has towards conservatives.
He’s done nothing but breed suspicion in both groups.
Thank you Salvation.:)
More like McCain has bred contempt for both groups. It isn’t a new tactic on his part. It has been going on since 2000 or maybe even a bit before that.
Maybe. If McCain wanted the support of the evangelicals, he would have hired someone to advise him in that area. It is obvious that Democrats are his favorite targets and he doesn’t want to make them mad. Doesn’t seem to bother him to make Republicans mad, though.
Says who? Jim Wallis? I won’t vote for Obama. Ever.
Yeah, but 9 out of 10 anonymous expert sources disagree with you on that!
Well, uh, uh... I have to admit I stole that line from this very website. Saw it (or a variant) posted last week.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the least. I think we’re going to be deluged with this stuff. Thinking of Obama as “Bambi” is a big mistake. He’s dumb and ignorant, but he’s power hungry and ruthless, and the latter compensates for the former.
And around him he has - bought by George Soros’ money, no doubt - people who are extremely canny.
Causing great stir among the deep-rooted Catholics when I state that there are millions of us who are neither “Catholic” (by the Vatican's definition), NOR “protestant” (by the Geneva definition), I go on to declare that millions of us Christians are NOT “evangelicals” by the modern media's or Mark DeMoss’ definition.
Not Catholic
Not Protestant
Not “Evangelical” (although we are evangelistic)
Christian, Biblical, NOT voting for anything like an Obama.
