WASHINGTON - An emboldened Barack Obama browbeat Sen. Joe Lieberman on the Senate floor after the self-proclaimed "Independent Democrat" slammed the candidate on behalf of Republican John McCain.

Flexing his new power as the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Obama greeted Lieberman, a prominent McCain backer, on the Senate floor Wednesday - then promptly led him by the hand to a back corner to give him a talking-to.

"He had him pinned against the wall," said one Senate aide who saw the tete-a-tete...

Lieberman Baracked into a Corner

Very good title. Descriptive. Good use of imagery.

As if taking orders, the OLBERMANIAC today declared Joe Leiberman THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD

I only caught a few seconds of the rant and don’t know what the ascribed reason is.

Who knows what was said between the two? The Lieberman spokesman said it was all very cordial. The New York Post, being an unabashed "tabloid," sometimes makes a big ado about nothing. On the other hand ...

OY! I have 8 cats. They have the run of the kitchen and their food bowls on the counter as the dogs will eat everything that drops onto the floor!

None of us have ever been ill of a food-born disease. And it isn’t due to luck. It is called healthy cats and cleanliness.

You just hate cats, buddy! I know exactly what kind of person you are - you despise independenc in others. I see it all the time ;-)

Did he ask him for a cigarette or change?

That gives me an idea. At the debate, McCain should reach into his pocket, pull out a pack of cigs, and offer Hussein a smoke.

In addition to being unqualified to be president he is turning into a very unlikable person.

Turning into? Look at his friends over most of his adult life. I can't believe a decent person would have much to do with Obama.

IMO, there is something fishy about this story. I saw the clip of the two of them leaving the floor together, but was BHO really bullying Lieberman? This is just one unnamed aide telling the tale, perhaps a Hillary staffer....

Democrats can only come up with these snobs who look down their noses at “typical” Americans.

That's certainly the case with BO and his condescending elevated chin, looking down on the masses.

"Something I’ve noticed about leftists is that for all their talk about liberty, they’re really just totalitarians."

Excellent observation - and FREEPERS would be among the first to be stood against the wall; and I am totally serious.

The funny thing is John McCain might be just the man to beat him.

Wow... I'm surprised nobody blast you (yet) with such statement... But yes, I agree with you. In the political environment that is quite toxic for Republicans, McCain might be the man that non-Republicans are comfortable enough for them to vote for.

There is no required security clearance for the CIC.

The Constitution forbids certain people from becoming President. Should not there be some check to ensure that the person who elected is not disqualified?

Perhaps, but if there were a conservative candidate, such a person would get stronger support from the base and might not need the vote of as many 'swing' voters (particularly if the swing voters would drop out rather than supporting Obama).
