Today is Sunday, June 1st and the Puerto Rico primary voting takes place from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. ET.
Welcome to the only forum on the web in the mainland United States (that I know of!) monitoring LIVE all the details, voting, exit polling and results for todays Puerto Rico Democratic primary! Many thanks to Jim Robinson and all of you at FreeRepublic.com for your support!
Will Hillarys popular vote tally move up substantially after todays primary? After all, there are over 2 million Puerto Ricans eligible to vote, and theres usually an 80-85% percent voting turnout on the island during different elections. Will this primary define whether she stays .. or whether she says Sayonara!? As Yogi Berra once said: Its not over until the fat lady sings, right?
Join us LIVE as we follow the islands news media and other outlets. Also, our deepest thanks to our main source in Puerto Rico, Freeper cll, for his input, analysis and important information throughout the past few weeks. We will be getting analysis and other tidbits of information straight from his mouth today, as well as from the mouths of other island residents who might join us later.
According to the Puerto Rican media, CNN will be the only network to have access to exit polling. The network decided to foot the entire bill, which will run in the neighborhood of $100,000, after its National Election Pool partners initially decided against splitting the costs.

Okay, just got back from enforcing Operation Chaos:
1. For those who don’t know in Puerto Rico we use paper ballots. In my school, after getting their ballots, many people were not wating for a booth to open up. They were voting right there in front of the officials. All of those that I saw were voting openly for Hillary.
2. Turn out in my school was similar to a regular election.
3. I then took my girlfriend to vote in another part of town. Turnout there was low (at that hour).
4. I did not see any exit pollers at either school.
5. Local radio is full of callers complaining of Obama supporters trying to impede, slow down, or discourage voting. That’s a well known tactic of the chief Obama supporter here, indicted Governor Anibal Acevedo Vila.
Great report, cll!
Kenneth McClintock was on with Geraldo Rivera on the Fox News Channel, saying that he was ‘disappointed’ that turnout had not been that great today.... he assumed that it was because Obama had somewhat conceded last night, and that some people didn’t see the need to go out and vote....
Listening to Radio Isla analysis right now, starting at 3:00 p.m. ET
CNN is projecting a Clinton win by a wide margin.
I don’t have Fox News Channel.
FNC has done the same thing, but is saying that this primary is meaningless (Obama is already effectively the nominee).
Manuel Rodriguez Orellana was on with Geraldo for a while as well and sounded very convincing as well as giving a really great case for independence for the island.
Geraldo is an admitted statehooder.
Could Geraldo have picked a better place to stand on that street in Old San Juan? There was clearly a boarded-up house in the background and a dry cleaning store next to it. Sheesh!
Back to the PR vote, CNN exit polls show Puerto Ricans voting heavily (well over 60%) across all demographics (male, female, educated, not so, well off, not so, young, old).
Yahoo! News sporting a yellow banner proclaiming a Hillary win in Puerto Rico.
Terry McAuliffe from San Juan on CNN making a jackass of himself right now............
I saw that. He better be warned of a nasty practice in use by the Governor’s people: The emptying of lists. That’s, for those who didn’t show up to vote, electoral officials can sign the lists in their place and casts ballots for Obama. That’s how the governor has gotten away with being elected.
Don’t be surprised if the race narrows as the CEE starts counting.
Fixed it.
Can’t wait for Hillary’s big speech later on.... I’m dying to know how she’s going to spin all of this [i.e. “I’m the only one that can bring in the Hispanic vote, etc.”]
5:26 PM ET
Coverage has been great, despite of the “unimportance” of the Puerto Rico primary.
Any publicity is great publicity!
thanks...more fuel to use against the rats...they will allow PR to have full votes yet the people in Michagan/Fla only count half-a-vote....
Yes, I’ve been impressed with the entire CNN team as well as with the Fox News Channel team (Major Garrett, Geraldo, Chris Wallace, Brett Baier).... the coverage is very fair and balanced.... she did very well today, even though there was no big turnout....
