I will be BBQing at a dragracing event.
1500hp cars burning 5 gallons of alcohol in 5 seconds.....can’t get much more wasteful than that. WOOHOO!

That sounds like my house.
...and all the stuff they are advocating doing is just a typical day for me. If I flip the lights off, it is simply to lower my electric bill...NOT because the Goddess Gia of mother earth will grant me positive kharma or some such other hippy horsecrap.

I only wish I could remove the old trees on our neighbors land that shade our pool and prevent it from warming up as fast as wed like. Also the trees are positioned to shade our pool and not their houses. Heat the pool by passing the water through a boiler.
Burn old tires in the boiler.

Since when is being wasteful one of our values? I really don't like to be wasteful, and I would never go out of my way to deliberately waste. Ask your parents or grandparents about the great depression, and the virtue of thrift.
They say the conservative party has lost it's way. This is a sad example.

I’ll mow my lawn. Supposedly a wasteful exercise.

Nobody mentioned gunsmoke. Kill it and grill it is my motto (thanks, Nuge). Tenderize the tough bits and smoke ‘em into jerkey over a pile of old-growth wood chips. Be creative.

I have a nice robusto-sized cigar just waiting for me in my humidor. It’s calling out to me to let it out...
A BBQ is in order too.

I agree with you. I turn my lites off to save on bills. I use solar power for my hot water tank. I do these things to save money, to conserve. I also enjoy BBQs and driving my 65 mustang (289 of course).
This article is asking for us to deliberately be wasteful, which seems awfully un-conservative to me.

I burn a tire every year to celebrate Earth Day.
It’s OK though, I have another tire.

I’m going to do all that, plus, cut down a few trees, shoot some varmints with lead shot and fire up the burn pit with left over chemicals stored in drums around the farm yard.

Conservative grassroots group Grassfire.org wants people to waste as much energy as possible on June 12 Sounds like fun....... at someone else's expense. I could do some cheaper things like burn leaves, fill my truck bed with trash and fly down the highway if I need to make the trip to town, outlet my sewer to the creek out back. I too could be a rebel.

waste as much energy as possible on June 12... This has great possibilities...
June 12 is my birthday.
I must contemplate on this.

Since when is being wasteful one of our values? It isn't. "Waste" is a poor choice of words. Hosting a barbecue, going for a drive, watching television, leaving a few lights on, or even smoking a few cigars. These are actions a few overzealous politicians and citizen nutcases would like to see outlawed in the days ahead. It's not a matter of wasting or preserving energy, but a matter of enjoying liberties bestowed by a gracious God who commanded us to fill the earth and subdue it.

I’m taking down my aging Bradford Pear trees before Mother Nature does it for me. I’ll be replacing them with brand-new Cleveland Pears, not that I’m an eco-freak or anything. :-)

Where is the poster? I would hate to create my own since this was not my idea. If we are to push this down their throats,as they do us,we need to make the noise. (BUUUURP!)
Please advise.
