Noteworthy, not because this is the first time hes said something this vile but because its not. He floated it to our favorite liberal in February during an interview on Fox News radio (and, sad to say, wasnt called on it) and thought so highly of his bon mot that he recycled it for his new book. Either no ones taken him aside to explain how disgusting it is or someone has taken him aside but he thinks its so important and righteous that hes going to keep deploying it anyway. I dont know which is worse. Bear in mind, though, that even demagogues on the order of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton tend to shy away from rhetoric in this vein when applied to simple voting preferences. Hes actually out-race-baiting professional race-baiters.
I have previously written in His Panic, Why Americans Fear Hispanics in the U.S. that, any Latino who votes for a Republican or a Democrat who opposes rational immigration reform is an Uncle Tom. In view of the pending Puerto Rico Democratic primary and the island commonwealths rare opportunity to explain itself and amplify the growing importance in the larger nations future of the Latino vote; it is time to say to all three candidates that our votes will go to the presidential aspirant who has the courage to defy the mob and call for an immediate cessation of ICEs draconian workplace campaign. Leaving a trail of broken hearts and disrupted communities is not the way to fix Americas broken immigration system.
Note the casual reference to our votes; Ive said my piece before about his crude, one-dimensional approach to this issue but its nice to know, a year later, that nothings changed. Read the whole post, too, as his alternative to raids on illegal immigrant workplaces is handing out summonses giving the recipient a time and place to appear for a deportation hearing. Michelle addressed that subject in an interview once upon a time with Neil Cavuto, but if you cant be bothered with the clip, read Heather MacDonalds essay on criminal illegal aliens (which might help Geraldo understand why ICE is armed) and look for the paragraph on run letters. Quote: [I]n 2001, 87 percent of deportable aliens who received run letters disappeared, a number that was even higher94 percentif they were from terror-sponsoring countries. Exit question: In which chapter of that Media Matters report on fear and loathing in immigration rhetoric, do you suppose, will we find Geraldos Uncle Tom comment featured?
I’ll never forget when, about a year ago, Geraldo told Bill O’Reilly that the Illegal Immigrants were “our honored guests”.
What a ding-bat.
Gerardo Legree, why not go help out another country instead of bothering the one you hate?
GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
And what does he call REAL immigrants who choose to vote for pro-immigration candidates instead of his anti-immigration ones ???
Jerry Rivers is anti-immigration...
Illegal aliens and their enablers are anti-immigration...
AMNESTY pushers are anti-immigration..
Americans who want the border closed, are pro-immigration
Americans who want the fence built are pro-immigration
Americans who want the illegal aliens deported are pro-immigration
Americans who want aliens to come here through immigration are pro-immigration
Americans who dont want AMNESTY for 30,000,000+ illegal aliens are pro-immigration
just call me Tio Tomas...
You and me both...
Jerry Rivers weighs in, luckily we’re paying him by the ounce.
The only Uncle Tom in this context is Whoraldo
George Shelby returns to his farm, where his father has died, breaks the news to Chloe of Toms death, and frees all his slaves, telling them to remember that they owe their freedom to the influence of Uncle Tom.

Gerald Rivers is just frightened that he could lose his gardner, pool boy and personal masseuse....WITH happy ending.
No he really does not speak for most legal legal Mexicans.
What a great tagline! ;)
Geraldo the perpetual racist.
I truly despise this race baiting jerk. I like to watch a fair amount of Fox News programs, but there is no way I would watch his show. Any time someone has him on their show, e.g., Fox and Friends or O’Reilly, I change the channel.
Doesn’t he mean an Uncle Tomás?
Geraldo, that is bunk!
Unfortunately, he claims to represent and speak for all Americans of Hispanic descent.
Geraldo does NOT speak for me!
NOR FOR ME!!!
And does that make Jewish Americans who vote for Barack Hussein Obama Uncle Tevyas?
Et tu, Jerry?
el Tio Tomas?
Geraldo, what other laws do you feel should not apply to you and your illegal buddies?
