Cindy Sheehan: Consider grief on this Memorial Day
Sacramento Bee ^ | 5/28/8 | Cindy Sheehan

Posted on 05/26/2008 9:35:44 AM PDT by SmithL

Memorial Day is a double whammy for me. You see, my son Casey was born on Memorial Day 29 years ago.

When he was growing up, we would gather dozens of our friends and relatives to celebrate his birthday. Now a few of us gather at his grave in Vacaville to mourn his death and cry for the life that was stolen from him. . . .

Casey served his country with honor & dignity. This day is his. Too bad she didn't learn anything from him. Once again she tries to grab the spotlight. Her absence has been a welcome relief. But I guess we really shouldn't be surprised.

Ouch. When I saw that name again, I got the shivers. It’s been a while since we’ve heard from her.

I find it funny how she constantly reminds us of her son’s death and how it affected her but on several occasions she was seen smiling for the cameras with members of the terrorist-loving organization Code Pinko.

The same group of pigs that gave money to the “insurgency” in Iraq. The same “insurgency” that killed Sheehan’s son.

This woman is nothing but an opportunist.

Memorial Day is indeed a day to mourn. Southerners decorate the graves of their beloved on Memorial Day.

It is also a day to honor their sacrifices.

Cindy Sheehan really cares about our troops. In fact, she cares soo much that she sat down with the Revolutionary Communist Party and gave an interview...

From the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party:
"Tearing Up the U.S. Paper Tiger in Korea: How 300,000 Chinese Troops Snuck into Korea and Kicked the Ass of the U.S. Armed Forces" RW #1059, June 18, 2000:

Also from the website of the Revolutionary Communist Party (revcom.us or rwor.org) :
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning. And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

I believe Casey was born May 29, 1979. It was a Tuesday. Memorial Day is always the last Monday in May.

I won’t read it. His memory is dishonored by his lunatic mom. God rest Casey’s soul, one of so many heroes to whom we owe everything.

I don't beleive that this freak ever had "dozens" of friends. Even when Soros provided them for photo ops.

This woman is nothing but an opportunist.

I was especially touched by the photo-op of her sitting on her son's grave.  She's laughing and joking, then suddenly the news crew arrives and she struggles to compose herself.  Then she pretends to weep.....I'm so thankful that POS, white trash is not a member of my family.

You are correct. But Cindy’s not one to let the truth get in the way of an opportunity to grab the spotlight.

There was a time when holidays like Memorial day and Washington's Birthday were observed on the actual day instead of a particular Monday. Can't recall when "Monday holidays" came into being, however.

My grief is reserved for the courageous men and women who died serving our country, and her son but not her, as it should be. Cindy Sheehan is a disgrace to the nation, and I believe she has used up her 15 min of fame.
