COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio's attorney general has resigned amid the scandal of a sexual harassment investigation in his office and his extramarital affair.
Marc Dann has been under pressure of possible impeachment and announced he was stepping down on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old Democrat at first refused to resign, despite demands by Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland and others within his party.
Dann admitted May 2 to an extramarital affair with an employee that he said contributed to an atmosphere leading to sexual harassment claims against a top aide.
Three aides were forced out in the harassment investigation, which showed managers encouraged a casual work environment with frequent profanity and inappropriate interactions with subordinates.
Is he or isn’t he?
I may live in OHio but I’m from Missouri.
Show me!
Bad news for McCain.
How?
This is Ted Strickland’s buddy! DEMOCRAT
BHO ain’t gonna carry Ohio. Move On....
Damn, damn, damn I gotta vote for McCain.
He has the resume to be the Dem President....Clinton/Dann, Mrs Clinton, wife of the impeached ex president and has experience dealing with such a person, and could blame it on the vast right wing conspiracy.
Because the GOP has been damaged in Ohio by scandals. If Dann stuck around, it would give McCain a chance to win Ohio.
Yippee! Quick, someone tell Nancy Pelosi that the “Party of Corruption” has lost another exemplary public official. When the Demagogues aren’t stealing money or surrendering to our enemies it’s because they’re too busy harassing, screwing, and/or molesting our daughters (or sons!). Maybe Dann can hold a retreat at some remote island resort with Spitzfong, Bernie Ward, Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Barney Frank, and other exemplary Democrats..... time for the nation’s best to schmooze and consult about what to do next.
Wow, two firsts
1. A named democrat in the THIRD sentence instead of the last paragraph
2. A democrat actually resigns
I must be in alternative universe
Both Dann and Spitzer resigned; the Democrats may hold on to their seats. Republicans such as Taft and others stick it and hurt the entire Republican Party. As a life-long Republican (conservative, FREEPER types) sometimes I think I belong to the Stupid Party. I am sure both Dann and Spitzer
had enormous pressure put on them by party officals to resign.
I wish our Republican leadership at the state and national level would do the same.
Very many Republicans have resigned.
I thought these things were "a private matter" and were "just sex". Now it is something to quit over or get impeached by Rats? Lets see, Spitzer and now Dann.
The Rats are soooo inconsistent.
That said, I am glad to see him go.
Trent Lott resigned his leadership post.
Bob Ney, Ohio congressman in the Abramoff scandal.
Duke Cunningham.
Mark Foley.
Bob Livingston.
Newt Gingrich and Tom Delay both left Congress by not running for re-election. Newt resigned as Speaker.
By contrast, Clinton didn’t resign.
Dan Rostenkowski didn’t resign.
Barney Frank didn’t resign.
Gerry Studds didn’t resign.
Gary Condit didn’t resign. (he lost a primary)
James Traficant didn’t resign (he was kicked out).
Cynthia McKinney didn’t resign. (she hit a DC cop) (lost in primary)
William Jefferson ($90,000 bribe in his freezer) didn’t resign.
I’m sure there are more...
I’ve been sort of following this story, being from OH originally, but there’s so many accusations about what’s been going on. Anyone got a good link that lays everything out?
The May 2 http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-gop/2010378/posts and May 5 http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2011792/posts threads are probably as good a place as any to start..

Other good roundups are on Naugblog.com and (lefty site) Buckeyestateblog.com
McCain has not one chance in a million of winning Ohio.
The plebes are losing their houses.
GM/Ford/Chrysler are closing up and shipping jobs to China.
Auto suppliers are shutting down left and right.
Toledo Jeep just announced their plans to start importing fully finished seats from China or India.
The State schools are socialist cesspools. An African-American human resources exec. at the University of Toledo was summarily fired for writing a respectful letter to an editor of a local paper about gay rights. Nothing incendiary. Just contrasted the choice of sexual orientation with the birth of skin color.
She was TERMINATED. No recourse.
McCain win Ohio?
It’s lost.
And you cannot game plan a GOP White House win that makes too much sense w/o Ohio going for him.
Get ready for this:
“Do you Barrack Hussein Obama, solemnly swear, to uphold . . . “
Nothing to gain by trying I guess. It's futile. We lost.
May as well not compete in 2012 either. I mean, why bother?
