WASHINGTON - A new Gallup survey found that 61% of Jewish voters prefer Obama to McCain, who got 32% of the Jewish support.
That number is far greater than the rate found for the general population, who only preferred Obama to McCain 45-43, according to the poll. Obama also still trails Clinton in Jewish support, according to the survey, with Clinton winning against Obama in the Jewish community 50%-43%.
Though the results showed Obama is favored by the Jewish community, the Republican Jewish Coalition pounced on them to attack Obama.

“Poll: Most Jewish voters want Obama to win...
and most muzzie terrorists all over the world that hate & want to kill all Jews and destroy Israel want b. HUSSEIN to win as also!!!!”
And that was what I meant about why aren’t they connecting the dots - do they not read, research or delve into these facts at all??
(sorry, guys, really didn’t mean to blast this thread as I have tonight, I’m just so passionate on this issue, and extremely worried about this election as it relates.)
I hesitate to refer to THE FRANKFURT SCHOOL In the context of Jewish liberalism lest I be accused of anti-Semitism since the school was founded by Jewish intellectuals. Now, however, it has metastasized beyond its original Jewish/Marxist roots and taken hold throughout our society especially in academia, journalism, charitable institutions, departments of government, and in many churches. It no longer has a "Jewish" identity and that's not the point of drawing attention to it.
The avowed purpose in founding the school as part of the University of Frankfurt was to identify and destroy those societal institutions which prevented the communist revolution from succeeding in Germany and the rest of the world after World War I. Hitler's persecution beginning in 1933 caused these Jews to flee Germany and spread their intellectual opposition to capitalism and democracy throughout the world. They found a warm welcome in America and invested places like Harvard and Columbia journalism school, the State Department, Hollywood, the CIA, etc.
David Horowitz, himself of course a Jew, has dedicated himself to the thankless and perhaps hopeless task of rolling back the Frankfurt School and its ideology "while we still have the freedom and power to do so".
An interesting lecture on the subject can be found here:http://www.newtotalitarians.com/PsychicIronCagePartII.html
You forgot to mention the New School For Social Research in New York, also known as the Frankfurt School in Exile back in the day.
By the way, you undoubtedly have the most well-rounded about page in all of Free Republic.
Most Jewish voters & other voters, will seriously regret the day they voted for Obama [if] he were to become President.
The 61-32 Obama advantage is based on a daily cumulative sampling of interviews done with Jewish voters daily during the entire 30 days of the month of April. They did the same technique for the 30 days of March, and then the Obama margin over McCain with Jewish voters was 58-35.
I can think of at least three possible sampling problems that come to mind, all of which likely favor the 'Rats in the end result:
(1) They do polling on weekends, when 'Rats (of any ethnic group) are more likely to be at home and answer their phones.
(2) They polled on 7 days in the month of April on which Orthodox Jews would not answer their phones for religious observance reasons. (4 Saturdays plus three additional days of Passover).
(3) Registered voters (the sample group) tend to be more heavily Democratic than likely voters - at least in past elections, which translates to oversampling of 'Rats in comparison to the what the actual vote is going to be.
“Far too many Jews have been uncomfortable with a strong Israel for decades, and seem to draw both their meaning in life, AND their sense of self, through victimhood.”
Another dangerous misconception on their part. Israel may refuse to play victim, but they’re very small in terms of land mass, population and weaponry volume compared to their surrounding adversaries. The proverbial David vs. Goliath. Or (hopefully), the Little Engine that Could.
So, if you’re right about many Jews here having conflicting feelings about a “strong” Israel, that’s an awful thing.
I must say that even though I am Jewish, I know very little on my group’s voting history. I know that because of FDR that they started voting for Democrats and why they vote for Democrats in a majority most of the time. I however didn’t know that the last time they voted for a Republican was Harding in 1920, yet I have heard from a Jewish Liberal turned Conservative that at that time in history most Jews were not treated real well by Republicans. It is also interesting how FDR has replaced many political heroes to where it became “ethical” to become a Democrat. Nevermind that FDR didn’t want to make WWII a “Jewish War”.
I also, however, know that Jews as a political group have been less loyal to the Republicans than Blacks have, interestingly enough.
However, with that set aside as I keep getting educated on here(these details are actually quite interesting.) I have another question. What is the Muslim Voting Bloc’s track history on voting? I wonder who most Muslims supported during Carter’s run for a second term which was not to be. Now that I am interested in.
Were they predominately political like other groups? I know about contemporary attitudes but what about even in the 1920s or so? I know that CAIR endorsed Bush and than endorsed Kerry who most Muslims voted for. I am sort of fascinated in the trends of various voting blocs(College students, the elderly), and especially fascinated by how much of the youth vote Reagan got in 1984.
“many liberal Jews have chosen to distance themselves from Israel rather than defend it. This is to stay in good with the liberal cause”
And I just SO don’t get this, because some of the most liberal/leftists in our country are media and show biz power players, most of whom, traditionally, are Jewish AND attend temple. I can’t include the rarified Academia in this, because ‘though so many of them are Jewish, it’s only by heritage (JINO), not belief, and are secularized (in many cases, atheistic).
“Jews have told me that they are ashamed to be Jewish because of Israel. This is directly in reference to military success.”
Okay - in battle and war, by definition, there is a winner and there is a loser. Ask them if their guilt is so great that they’d feel better if Israel were the LOSER. And if so, have they thought beyond that, to the consequence and all its global implications??
“It is surprising to me that so many voters really do not yet have any comprehension about Obamas background and his political philosophy, much less about his stanves on Israel, Hamas, Iran, etc..”
It’s breathtaking. And who WILL make them aware? We all, in our own ways, have to keep chipping away at this. Fox News Channel, to whatever extent, and - please, God - McCain and/or his campaign camp as well as the RNC. It simply must be done as early as possible, before November.
“No price for political correctness is too great for some Liberals.”
And put in another way - there is no cause too dangerous, no threat too evil for a liberal to support if a conservative opposes it.
“The whole chosen ones thing drives our over-the-top support.”
Well, now we face a very scary candidate who appears to be the “chosen one”, don’t we?
Voyage of the Damned -
thank you for enlightening all to this tragedy. The sad truth of our decaying, apathetic culture is that of those old enough to have seen the movie about this, only some did, few probably knew that it was true, fewer still aware of the full story and facts (which you generously shared), not the LEAST of which who was President at the time, and his role in this event.
For the millions of more “contemporary” voters today, it’s just SO not a YouTube moment.
“Those Jews that believe blacks cant possibly be anti-Semitic need to listen to the Reverend Wright and the other black leaders that are only to happy to detail how bad Jews are and how much they hate them.”
YES - have they not considered how MANY blacks over the decades have converted to Islam??? Or looked into Wright’s Farrakhan ties and their joint trip to Tripoli to pow-wow with Khadaffi? And all the anti-semitic terrorists’ endorsements of BHO? This is NOT rocket science - again, just connect the elementary dots.
“When talking to friends in Israel a great deal of them are fearful on our behalf, because of Obama.. They see his true colors (not skin) the measure of the man..”
Well, can they, do they, try to speak to their American counterparts by whatever means possible?? Personally, publications, etc.
He'll bring up something democrats do or have done that is detrimental to Israel or the Jewish people in general, and he told me they usually have nothing to say - but it's unclear whether that will change how they vote. He'll question them about their opinion on the way democrats have fought tirelessly for our surrender to Islamofascism and the way that democrats favor terrorists over innocent Jews living in Israel and he said they are generally speechless - but, again, he doesn't know whether the facts will make them change how they vote.
I think he tries to be as nonconfrontational as possible- most of the people he talks to are part of his congregation- but he doesn't let ignorance and stupidity go unanswered either.
Trust me, He will be arriving soon. And remember, not all people who call themselves Christians are Christians. It is impossible to be a Christian who knows Christ as Savior, who knows that God chose to bring forth the Savior through the Jewish people, and hate Jews. Yes, there are some Jews who have made foolish choices, and have chosen the way of destruction, like billions of other people who have walked this planet, but God's covenant with Abraham, and his Jewish descendants, still stands and still applies. God is not through with His precious people, the Jews, still loves them, and will, in the end, bring them to salvation.
And my opinion of the people of Joshua's time? They were Jews who were obeying God's commandments as they were given at that time and who could serve as good examples of obedience and trust in God to not only modern Jews, but most Christians as well.
