All indications are the Democrats will pick up seats in both the House and Senate, with the Senate likely being a couple of RHINOs away from the magic 60. McCain is no Reagan but he's the only thing standing in the way of the most liberal Senator in Senate becoming President with a clear majority in Congress and at a critical time with decisions to be made on the war on terror, the war in Iraq, heath care, taxes, illegal immigration and likely the Supreme Court.
Sometimes you do have to pick the lesser of two evils. This is one of them. I am fully aware that I'll be let down by McCain on some key issues but I know I'll be let down on all of them if Obama is President.
Very good point——conservatives will shout it from the rooftops, that Hern-—Aztlan—dez is the chief obstacle to McVain getting support.
Course. McC will learn to his everlasting sorrow that anti-amnesty is a rare consensus issue that unites all segments of the political spectrum.
Ask Hillary about the downside of supporting licenses for illegals in liberal Dem NY.

Grassfire has put out some great things-—that booklet about illegals crime wave for instance.
it is not a question of a b or c it is a quesiton of what does mccain attract.
Does McCain have coat tails for the down ticket candidates? no.
Does McCain attract people to vote FOR him rather than against his opponent? no.
Does McCain make people want to volunteer to help him? no.
Does McCain attract smaller donors? no.
does not say much about him.
No, it doesn’t. And I’m not doanting, I’m not attracted, I’m voting against his opponent.
His one point, other than that he has promised to appoint originalist justeices is that he’s not them.
He’s what we’ve got, and that has to be enough. For the time being. If he does win, we have the keep the pressure on him not to get in bed anymore with the “loyal” opposition.
The GOP can give hundreds of reasons for it’s failures. But all start with pathetic leadership at the very top of the party. This election cycle is no exception.
"Among Hispanic voters[nationwide], Obama leads 58% to 35%."
Hey, McCainez, how's that turbo-charged hispandering working out for you? You might want to think about taking your brown nose out of the Reconquistadores' backsides and doing something for America for a change, 'cause guess what? The hispanics ain't voting for you!
Is this poetic justice or what?
granted, McCain is just the army we have not the army we want.
The sad fact is McCain who is supposed to be the leader is clueless in disingenous in refusing to acknowledge that his starting point with the BASE is “as a dissapointment.”
We gotta get that on a tee shirt.
"It doesn't matter who you vote for as long as you vote of us." ..... Stalin
The game is rigged so that we always have to vote for one of them. The only way to change the game is to not vote for one of them. Any else is just plain foolish.
I have, on my knees with tears in my eyes. I know what I am going to do in this election. And I have considered that McCain could see the situation regarding republican fortunes developing long ago. Certainly most on FR did. This would mean that McCain moved left simply to get elected. And that he will govern from the right once elected. In essence his behavior over the past four years is a head fake to get lib voters to vote for him. Conservatives, trust me I will be conservative when elected. To me this has been his message; Trust me. Is he smart enough to pull something like this off? Absolutely. Can I trust him? Perhaps. It would be easier for me to do so; if not for the gang of 14. If not for the illegal alien issue. If not... If not... All this said, McCain will be the next POTUS absent something totally unexpected happening. So if you support him now I wouldn't be too worried about it. Nuc1
