Wake up Conservative Base!

Posted on 05/10/2008 9:11:06 AM PDT by RonnieFan

All indications are the Democrats will pick up seats in both the House and Senate, with the Senate likely being a couple of RHINOs away from the magic 60. McCain is no Reagan but he's the only thing standing in the way of the most liberal Senator in Senate becoming President with a clear majority in Congress and at a critical time with decisions to be made on the war on terror, the war in Iraq, heath care, taxes, illegal immigration and likely the Supreme Court.

Sometimes you do have to pick the lesser of two evils. This is one of them. I am fully aware that I'll be let down by McCain on some key issues but I know I'll be let down on all of them if Obama is President.

What, exactly, do you intend to do to stop or slow the impending marxist disaster>

Here's the part many don't understand. There is an impending disaster, no matter who wins the election. Our challenge is to stop it from happening. My belief is that it will be easier to stop a Democrat congress and president than a McCain presidency and Democrat congress.

With McCain, Republicans in congress will be forced to go along with his sure-to-be concessions to Democrats. But those same Republican congressmen will stand up and block a disastrous Democrat agemda.

Not to mention that he received 19 medals in only 23 missions. (For what??????) He crashed 5 airplanes because he was such a sorry and incompetent pilot? (Unbelievable)

Looks like his daddy had some say in that as well. The guy is as false as Juan F’n Kerry in my book.

Wake up to what?

You want everyone to run out and work for RINOs that will only betray after the election? That’s exactly what is going on in the Party and the RNC.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I think we have quite a few deep cover trolls here at FR. I confronted one that actually equated John McCain's military record with John Kerry's.

I have drawn the same comparison more than once because prior military service does NOT equate to sound leadership, conservative principles or trustworthy governance. Lee Harvey Oswald and Charles Whitman were veterans, too.

He isnt really all that Pro Gun..I think he got like a d rating by the NRA.
Mccain should not be the man the GOP picked to be Pres. Can anyone tell me what merits him to seek the highest office in the land?
I am greatly disappointed in the GOP.I will vote for the goofball, but I aint giving him any cash nor will I urge anyone else to vote for him.

It has come to this......Enough is enough! Time to turn off the lights and start over.

Amen to your whole post!!

We may have to endure short term pain for long term gain.

As far as openly opposing McCain on FR, that is what this site is built for.

Well, I hope that if you succeed that you are right. I, myself, disagree with this strategy.

The best we can do is all we can do. After the election, we must all work together to ensure that the minimum about of irreversible bad news takes place.

Thank you, I see our job after the election as getting very organized and vocal opposing all things socialist, including adopting the lefts tactics on opposing Supreme Court nominees. Past time we started playing real hardball.

I’ve gone back and forth and forth and back on this. I really dislike McQueeg for all the Right reasons. There is a critical path to my thinking now however.

The world is headed for WAR. Thank providence we have a strategic oil reserve cause we are going to need it. The one thing McQueeg may do right is strengthen the military and actually use it like it needs to be used.

This trumps everything. Everything.

Socialism, as we live and breathe it right now, can be overturned. A police state brought on by severe energy shortage, societal breakdown and hard leftist pols will be forever.

If Obama becomes prez its the end. Kiss your family goodbye and watch the tidal wave roll over you.

Be a man and stop weeping. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Totally agree! I will not sacrifice principal to vote for McPain. My wish is to see a Republican party meltdown in the upcoming election. Only then, can a true Conservative party emerge. Even if McPain is elected, he’ll have No Senate or House to work with. Then everyone will see the true, uninhibited, temper tantrum throwing J. McPain.

.....If Obama becomes prez its the end. Kiss your family goodbye and watch the tidal wave roll over you......

A great many FReepers don’t believe that. They blindly ignore the possibility and speak of voting for some ridiculous third party or writing in a name or some other self agrandising rationalization.

I call them the Bitcons....the Bitter Conservatives.
