I want this guy’s crystal ball, mine seems to be broken.

The first people to stop using $5.00 / Gallon gasoline will largely be the Indians and Chinese who most recently started using gas.
The demand curve is sloped. Marginally, someone always stops buying at higher and higher prices. Then, the market stabilizes.
The only way you lose out to the Indians or Chinese is to be less productive than them. So quit reading and get back to work!

Thanks for the summary. I did read the first few paragraphs. Now I’m in a panic because my garage isn’t stocked with provisions, and I haven’t familiarized myself with his suggested travel routes. My only hope is that the Wolverines will be lurking in the mountains around Vegas and will take me under their wings.

Please, this is so over the top as to be unbelievable.
He could get a much better reception by simply and calmly saying, "Stock up on essentials such as nonperishable food stuffs, ammunition, weapons, and gear to live in the wild."
More people would listen.

Good catch! The inclusion of Elizabeth II makes it plain that this guy is - shall we say - “one horseman short of an apocalypse”.
