My wife Mrs. Don-o is having gastric bypass surgery on Thursday, May 8. If all goes well, she should be discharged on Saturday.
She is very confident in the surgeon, who has done over 1800 of these operations (four hour procedure). She is doing all the research possible on her own and expects do fabulously.
The hope is for almost instant relief from diabetes and three or four related co-morbidities. The major post-op risk, statistically, is pulmonary embolism. In her case, this risk is mitigated by the fact that she's been walking and exercising a whole lot, but exacerbated by the fact that she has a presently incurable and progressive form of COPD (rheumatoid-related bronchiolitis.)
She says if y'all would pray for her she'll breathe a lot easier (!) Thanks, everybody.
That is wonderful Don-O and Mrs. Don-O.
Thank You Jesus.
Amen.
Heh, love the Groucho glasses! Great to hear the Mrs. is in good spirits! Please let her know I said a Rosary for her in the wee hours of the morning, as I was getting ready for bed!
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear she is doing well! Can’t wait to chat with her when she gets back!

W00t! A further prayer that it’s as successful and life-changing as the one a colleague underwent a couple of years ago. She keeps a Before and an After picture on her desk and updates the latter every couple of months. Amazing.

we are all in prayer that the Lord stays with you and keep ALL things ahead going smoothly
Praise God for the good news. Please send her our love!

Prayer bump!
So glad to hear all went well! Love the glasses!
I'll do the jello with one hand, while making a no sugar lemon custard with the other hand. Actually, she has very specific nutrition requirements that will not involve my considerable culinary skills; at least at first. I'll just be responsible for feeding me and my boys; and after June 30 (see tag) me and my boy.
