I sure hope you’re both right. If it is Barry, I think he goes down in flames and Hill is indeed sitting pretty.
The only thing we then can hope is that Pres. McCain charms Hill the way Ronny charmed Tip. The nightmare would be the opposite, with Hill charming McCain like Teddy charmed first-term W. We don’t want to see McCain buying off a single successful term by de facto handing the reins to Hill in 4 years.
God Bless you Pat and keep you safe. We’ll pray for your success and healthy recovery.
Prayers up.
McCains convoluted pap plays well with all 4 conservative dems and middle of the roaders

Carly Fiorino was the headlined person at the end of Chris’ Wallace show. She, the McCain campaign chairman, talked about “fighting for” ... McCain, victory, whatever. People lose me when they start using the “fight” word. It is such a reflex word for dems, that I bet if we dug back into Fiorino’s history we would find a dem, an Emily’s list supporter, etc.
What you said is surely what I am counting on. His campaign chairman comes from the corporate world - looks like a twin of Christie Todd Whitman - what does she know about grassroots republicans? Probably about as much as I do!
God protect our country, is my constant prayer!
Bottom line if McCain does not give us a conservative VP we could be screwed again.
Well, if worse comes to worse I am sure the Klintoons can do an Iranian version of Arkancide!
It was depressing. The rising generation will change the political landscape.

I have just recently read a similar depressing article - may have been an Investors Business Daily editorial - describing the hopelessness of expecting much in the way of traditional patriotism from this generation, because they have not been exposed to it in any of their school experiences - where they have been constantly bombarded with messages about the negative impact of our country on Everything.
Well maybe the republicans should start running some emotional ads. But aim them at men. The strength that men need to raise their families, the strength men need to go to work everyday only to be told they have to give more to their government, the strength needed to tell the truth and the strength needed to hear the truth. The strength men need to stand up for this country.
Let the ads tell men to be proud of who they are and that they are needed to be men in these times.
I agree with your excellant analysis...I wondered why Barack didn’t explain the relationship as him coming to Chicago and needing a Black mentor and understanding the rage etc of Blacks and then saying that he and Wright had drifted apart more and more and he just is not able to convince some Blacks like Wright that it is now time to move on.
He could have flipped the whole Balck rage thing into how HE, Obama tried to help Wright understand the need to move on.
Having said all that, that only would have worked if it was true...otherwise they would have just found people who said Barakc had never disagreed with Wright.
I’m very optimistic about our next generation when I saw the Cailf college kids demonstrating cause they had increased the tax on beer! HA!
I remain convinced that the pundits seem to routinely miss the essential dynamics of this election—ressentiment in the black electorate and white guilt in the haute bourgeois.

The pundits don’t see it because they live it; it is part of their nature.
Ahhhh looks great snugs!
Hey Cedrick!
Sorry I missed your bit of wit earlier.
Indeed we shall soon have a fine, fine thread on, what else?
HEART HEALTHY POTATO SALAD!
Oh my, snugs. It doesn’t appear that Gordon Brown is very popular at all.
Thanks!
Both Dem hopefuls are essentially the same political person.Their policies would be indistinguishable from each other. Given this fact, it’s eminently practical to base choice on electability.
So attacking a racist and America hater is race baiting? Dean has no principles whatsoever.
