Joint Terrorism Task Force Makes Arrest as a
Result of Courthouse Bombing Investigation
United States Attorney Karen P. Hewitt announced that Rachelle Lynette Carlock, age 31, was arraigned today in federal court in El Centro before Magistrate Judge Peter C. Lewis on a felony complaint charging Carlock with use of a false identification document, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 842(a)(2) and (i)(1) and 1028(a)(7), respectively. At the time of the hearing , the government requested that the defendant be detained based upon risk of flight and danger to the community. The detention has been scheduled for May 21, 2008 at 10:00am before Magistrate Judge Lewis in El Centro. The defendant is next scheduled to be in court on May 29, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., for a preliminary examination before Magistrate Judge Lewis.
Carlock, was arrested on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at approximately 2:47 p.m. in the vicinity of 35th and National Avenue, San Diego, California, by members of the San Diego FBI SWAT team.
Also in connection with this matter federal search warrants were executed at 2952 40th Street and 3868 Teak Street, San Diego, California. The FBI’s Evidence Response Teams (ERT) responded to the locations and collected items of evidentiary value.
The Joint Terrorism Task Force has an ongoing investigation concerning the May 4, 2008 bombing of the U.S. District Courthouse. No person has yet been charged for that crime.
An arrest itself is not evidence that the defendant committed the crimes charged. The defendant is presumed innocent until the government meets its burden in court of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Sunita's father Om Prakash has confessed to murdering his pregnant daughter and her boyfriend, police told Reuters. An uncle and two cousins were among four others arrested.
But in Balla many people believe the father confessed merely to underline that he supported his daughter's killing, to satisfy honor and protect the real culprits among his family or village.

Such is the message of a crazy new government guide called "Words that Work and Words that Don't" urging federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, to eliminate all references to Islam when discussing, well, Islamic terrorism.
Not only does that mean no more talk of "Islam," it also means no more talk of "jihad." ("Extremism" is the new "jihad.") And forget about the "caliphate." (Try "global totalitarian state.") Even such politically correct terms as "Islamist" and "Islamofascist," which take the traditional teachings of Islam off the hook, are now verboten. And so, more curiously, is the term "Muslim moderate." Says the government: "The term `moderate' has become offensive to many Muslims, who believe that it refers to individuals whom the USG prefers to deal with, and who are only marginally religious."
News flash for Uncle Sam: Islam, in myriad forms, is at war with the West. And even if we never say the words, we can still darn well lose.
FYI - A moment of your time is requested. Thank you.

No honour (honor) in “honour” (honor) killing.
It is evil.
It is wrong.
Thanks for sharing MamaDearest.
Adding a note to your post no. 647 MamaDearest.
The jihadis just haven’t got the memo.
They are still calling it “jihad.”
I haven’t seen online any large outpouring of moderate (now called “traditional muslim”) muslims attempting to correct the jihadis in their misperception of “jihad.”
This concerns me greatly.
Looks like far more than jihadis haven't gotten the PC edict yet.....
Google has 348,000 entries for "jihad news." Google jihad news entries
Yahoo has 32,100,000 entries for "jihad news." Yahoo jihad news entries
Well there you go...no matter what one may wish to call it; the simple facts is that jihad IS jihad.
If ever anyone ever felt compelled to verbalize their feelings about conservative politics, this is THE avenue to do so. Thank you Cindy for bringing this link to us:
You’re welcome MamaDearest.

“Computer held by Khadr’s sister contains al-Qaeda files, RCMP say”
COLIN FREEZE
From Thursday’s Globe and Mail
May 15, 2008 at 4:48 AM EDT
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The RCMP say they have uncovered a treasure trove of al-Qaeda files from a computer once held by Abdullah Khadr’s sister, including “some sort of military operational plan to infiltrate Burma,” according to court files seen by The Globe and Mail.
In February, 2005, Zaynab Khadr left Pakistan to return to Canada, where she has never been arrested or charged with a crime. Still, the Mounties claim she left behind “two large metal containers” in Pakistan that they searched once they were shipped to Canada on June 15, 2005.
Court documents filed in one of her brother’s cases show the Mounties say they found a hard drive that includes “material dealing with bomb making, ricin, techniques of assassination, chemicals, poisons, silencers, etc; incoming and outgoing e-mails of Zaynab Khadr.”
The once-secret RCMP memo of August, 2005, then goes on to describe other seized files, including “some sort of military operational plan to infiltrate Burma and establish an al-Qaeda base, curriculum for religious studies at al-Faruq training camp, techniques to invade prisons, contract for immoral acts; administrative letters from [Osama bin Laden], ETC.””

“The credit card-terrorism connection
How terrorists use cards for everyday needs and to fund operations”
By Jeremy Simon
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Fraud techniques
Account information from legitimate credit cards becomes a valuable commodity for terrorists. “Terror groups and criminal organizations use credit card cloning and skimming to fund themselves,” says Loretta Napoleoni, author of “Terror Incorporated: Tracing the Money Behind Global Terrorism.” “Cloning is done primarily via the Internet. Skimming requires use of the actual card, so it is done in restaurants and stores,” she says. “It is a very popular and easy technique.” Experts also note that the theft of a laptop or computer database security breaches can produce a treasure trove of credit card information for fraudsters.
“It happens that various terrorist organizations engage in credit card fraud and related crimes (e.g. phishing), as do individuals and groups of so-called ‘homegrown’ terrorists,” says Aaron Weisburd via e-mail. Weisburd is director of the Web forum Internet Haganah, which tracks pro-terrorist online activity. “Regarding the latter, we are in an age of ‘do-it-yourself’ terrorism and this is a kind of fundraising activity that such people can engage in on their own, freeing them from any need for financial support from a formal organization such as al-Qaida.”
“It is worth noting that often the perpetrator is not the terrorist himself, but rather the individuals or small businesses who are providing services such as hosting a Web site for terrorists,” he adds.
“What I can say is that in the course of investigating online activity of terrorist groups and their supporters, I uncover signs of credit card fraud frequently, and have done so for at least six years,” Weisburd says. Still, “I would not say that it is happening more often now than before,” Weisburd says.”
