How the h*ll is the Flux Capacitor going to compute "Mecca Time" while the time machine is traveling at 88 miles per hour?
I first thought this would be a scrappleface article. Sadly it wasn’t. The Islamic tendency to try to co-opt anything it comes in contact with and claim that it was Islamic to begin with is alive and well. Islam, which has wallowed in the 16th century for centuries is now trying to claim that science itself is Islamic and that the foundations of science have always been laid out in the Koran for all to see. Now that they’ve co-opted science itself, they are claiming that science has proven that Mecca is the center of the earth (I must have missed when that earthshaking conclusion was published in a true scientific review journal). Leave it to this deluded group to take this nonsense one step further to use this as justification that GMT should be moved (GMT is an arbitrary line to begin with, you shouldn’t need scientific ‘proof’ to try to move it). What will Islam try to take next? The Chinese new year? My instinct is to ask what is it about these people that makes them believe that others will accept such nonsense without skipping a beat? Well, the BBC didn’t question it in their article....
If Mecca is the center, then persons of all faiths and the absence of faith should be able to freely visit this muslim only under penalty of DEATH Islamic supremacist city.
Living on Mecca time.
Living on Mecca time.
Gonna set my watch back to it
cause you know that Ive been through it.
Living on Mecca time.
Why the hell should we adopt their time? Near as I can tell, they still think it’s 600 AD. They can’t even get a calendar to work right.
Did they say Macaca time? ;-)
The meeting also reviewed what has been described as a Mecca watch, the brainchild of a French Muslim . The watch is said to rotate anti-clockwise and is supposed to help Muslims determine the direction of Mecca from any point on Earth.
OK , the anti clockwise part seems fairly consistent with Muslim logic..
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Da-da-da-da-da-da
Well . . .
Mecca in the mornin’
Mecca in the evenin’
Mecca at suppertime
Be my little Mecca
And love me all the time
Abdul in the mornin’
Achmed in the evenin’
Mecca at suppertime
So by my little Mecca
And I’ll face you all the time
Strap some bombs around me
And swear by stars above
Virginsll be mine forever
In a heaven of love
Mecca in the mornin’
Mecca in the evenin’
Mecca at suppertime
Be my little Mecca
I’ll face you all the time
The only thing I’d set to Mecca time is when to start the pork chops marinating.
Center of the Earth....my hope is someday it is a crater. That’ll make it closer to the center of the Earth.
You know, I never thought of it that way, but Hubby would also be facing East, LOL! Wait’ll I tell him that one, he’ll love it!
I was thinking "pig farm".
Actually, and I think this is generous, but the book “The Rise of Modern Science: Islam, China and the West” credits Islamic societies as developing nearly on par with other cultures until about 1200 AD.
The author did say that they significantly slowed their pace of development prior to this.
The reason is that it is considered apostasy to pursue studies (theology, law, science) outside of the ideas in the Koran because it is “complete and perfect work”.
Only if Mecca were situated in Earth's core. "Muslim scientist" is an oxymoron.
I was thinking "pig farm".
How about a radioactive pig farm!
See?? "Muslim scientist" IS an oxymoron.
If we only new the full list of the things they would change, new year start/end, no Christmas or other Christian holidays, marriage as we know it, freedom for women as we know it, the ability to practice Christianity, our freedoms as we know them...
The U.S. Constitution would have to go.
Yep, let's just move as many of these people into our midst as we can, because it will not result in conflict over time. /s
Folks, as the muslim presence grows, their thought that their culture should dominate is only a matter of natural progression.
We are not talking about assimilation here.
If we believe in Christianity, then flooding our nation with non-believers becomes problematic. And with the cultural differences inherent, we're talking about serious trouble ahead IMO.
