Religion is the opiate of the masses. -- Karl Marx, 1843
It's not surprising that they get bitter, they cling to . . . religion . . . as a way to explain their frustrations. -- Barack Obama, 2008
Has anyone else pointed out the striking similarity between Barack Obama's recent statement about tough economic times driving people to religion and that of another person who preached change: Karl Marx?
Obama added guns and xenophobia to his list of proletarian elixirs for bitterness. But the fundamental point remains: Barack apparently doesn't take religion, his own or anyone else's, too seriously. It's not a search for truth or an attempt to live in accordance with God's word. It's just a way to get by, a stupefacient that helps proles endure the pain of living in an economy unfairly dominated by the "haves." Karl would concur.
This morning's Today did take up the controversy that Obama's remark has kicked up. View video here.

Barack Obama is no longer an elitist `grasshopper’. He is now officially certified to give arrogance lessons to John F’in Kerry and Mario Cuomo.

Is it possible that Obama actually BELIEVES that Americans who believe in God, the 2nd amendment and that illegal immigrants are destroying the nation -don’t really BELIEVE those things- that we’re simply playing the blame game?
Breathtaking.

Translation: You hicks are all a bunch of gun toting, evangelical nut job, bigoted, protectionists who can't relate to the “real” world. However the false messiah’s “true religion” will set you straight. Talk about a true uniter. What elitist clap trap! Keep that motor mouth going Hussein. Anyhow where has Michelle been lately? Locked up in a cellar with rum soaked raisins I suppose. She seems to have fallen off the MSM radar screen.

Yet he ‘cling’ to his racist pastor and intolerant church. Uh, doesn’t that make him guilty of clinging to his own religion as he castigates others choice of faith?
How can anyone think this person is not a total sham, a golem of a slick PR campaign? I’d like to know who is really behind it all because someone else is pulling the strings of this puppet and it’s frightening to consider who/what it could be.

The more he says, the clearer the view into his true beliefs and ideas about things. This being a prime example, and what a shocker. The smoke is clearing and the mirrors are breaking.

I don't think there are too many people who are surprised that Obama is a Marxist. All of the programs he's offered are a move to consolidate power. Consider his proposed windfall profit tax on the oil companies. How does transferring more money away from oil producing companies and sending it to Obama's pocket help me at the pump? At least the oil companies are exploring, drilling, pumping, refining, and distributing fuel. Could it be that he just wants more dollars to control those beholding to him and his idiotic policies? Naw...he's too nice a guy for that...right?

Actually, this should cinch the nomination for him. His comments reflect the thinking of many of the left wing elites, if not the whole Washington political class. The much sought after Super Delegates prolly think the same
While these thoughts may not sit well with some Democrat voters, one can be certain McCain will not use them in his 'high road path' to the White House.
And if the truth be known, several of the FR open boarders - Free Trade crowd also think the same way.

I just do not understand Obamamania.
Anyone with a brain can see that he is an empty suit, and with
half a brain can see that he is the most leftist goon in the Senate, but listening to Kook to Kook (Coast to Coast) this morning, I see that Noory, who seems normal, is in love with Obama, as well as Art Bell...So strange.

McCain’s campaign was wrong on this one. Obama and the Missus are as in touch with bitterness as any we’ve seen in eons. After all, they MADE her go to that elite white bastion at Princeton even tho her grades and test scores would not otherwise have qualified her. I mean, isn’t she entitled to be bitter?
