SAN ANGELO, Texas — Teenage girls, often younger than 16, were required to have sex in the soaring white temple after they were married in sect-recognized unions at a polygamist compound in West Texas, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.

The temple "contains an area where there is a bed where males over the age of 17 engage in sexual activity with female children under the age of 17," said an affidavit quoting a confidential informant who left the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

There is no excuse to make excuses. It is sick mindedness to make excuses for the vile practices done in that place or any branch connected to the same.

I never said this was religious persecution.

I said it was a bad warrant that is going to cause guilty to walk and not guilty to be punished, and I still stick by that.

I said that if the bad warrant was served on anyone but the FLDS then people would be up in arms about 4th amendment and search and seizure. I still stick by that.

Anyone care to explain how that would be possible?

I know American education is a big problem today, but surely you know what twins are. If not look it up.

Thank God Mitt wasn’t nominated or PravdABDNC would have made him a member of this sect.

I'm okay with that.

Having a baby at 13, at 14, at 15 and then again at 16.

It is very possible. Twins are possible too.

My mother had 5 babies in 5 years. All single birth.

Imagine if your neighbor called the cops about a statutory crime that occured a few months/years ago and the police came into your neighborhood and arrested your wife and took your children then demanded access to your home to discover evidence of crimes you may have been involved in. I guess sometimes Freedom and Liberty in the country takes a vacation for groups outside the norm.

Tonight, for some strange reason, I am defending American citizens against their government.

Personally, I would like to learn a few more facts first, before making any judgment.

Hit puberty at 11-12 years of age. One baby every year. Breast feeding is not a fool-proof method of birth control, though the hormones make pregnancy harder.

Inner city kids won't do 4 by age 16. Their limit seems to be 1-2.

Nothing has been proven at this point, but there is a wildfire of a reaction. Its all anonymous accusations thus far. It could take years to sort out.

It sure lessens Obamas Church problems

From other threads here on FR, there is a Federal warrant as well, as this involves taking the underaged girls across state lines. If the TX warrant has issues, the Fed warrant will cover any discrepancies.

What exactly are you upset about?

A little something called freedom and freewill, and I oppose all types and forms of slavery.

I believe those mundane things are mentioned in the Constitution of this country.

If reports are accurate, the initial warrant named the wrong man as being “married” to the girl that placed the call. The man named in the warrant is related to, and shares a very similar name with, the man who is the father of her child. But they got the name wrong.

I tend to believe the idea the warrants contained an error because the reports that they had named the wrong man are not coming from sympathizers of the FLDS, but people associated with Tapestry Against Polygamy, which has worked with a number of the girls and women that escaped the FLDS, and does a pretty good job of keeping track of who is “married” to whom. The people at Tapestry have been very aggressive in trying to get Utah and Arizona to act on reports of abuse in the FLDS for years.

This is also why the man named in the warrant, who is already on probation and is not in hiding, was not arrested. In fact very basic police work would have let them know exactly where he was (in Arizona, not at the compound) as he meets regularly with his probation officer.

There is a great deal of concern that any evidence gathered in the first search could be deemed inadmissible. There is also concern that the later warrants could have been based on evidence gathered from the first warrant, and could therefore also be deemed invalid.

At this point it is all speculation, and it is possible that interviews with the women and children that left the compound provided enough probable cause for the additional warrants.

But it does present a potential problem, especially if any cases that are brought don’t include testimony of the girls and women involved.

If you started getting pregnant around 11 or 12, single births are possible.

It’s ongoing crimes against children that is being stopped here, so your analogy is not applicable.

So are you saying that Obama a polygamist? Or are you excusing the leaders of this LDS sect by pointing fingers? -if so, that is a sick thing to do.
