This kind of train of thought could be used for any pedophile. Prior to the first pedophile experience, they might have no criminal background, be pretty nice, not be crazy, but just have had some of life’s painful experiences.

Sometimes you just gotta call a spade a spade. A lot of people have had horrible experiences growing up and have had lots of troubles but they usually don’t have sexual intercourse with their brother/sister/mother/father/daughter/son.

Actually - I shouldn’t joke about it too much. These things are very common here in Oregon. So much so that every birth certificate is locked up like Fort Knox. A person can’t even get their sibling’s Cert.

While I see your logic, a pedeophile or rapist or such are engaging in such feloneous behavior against a minor. I don't draw a comparison. I do see using as emotionally charged an issue as possible to convince me. It does not.

These people were obviously acting in complete self convenience. One might just say they were the ultimate in lazy, shunning the hard work a valuable relationship takes. As to why the father wasn't considering his daughter's best long term interests I can't fathom.

I'd also be willing to bet that had this occured in many other families, the woman would have secured another sexual partner and assigned that pregnancy toward that person.

What we're dealing with here is the almost idiotic candor in which these two have telegraphed their acts, motivations, and reasons. That's what we find shocking and disgusting.

Grant's Pass traveller. I've found Oregon to be one of the strangest states in the country. I ferried several aircraft to Oregon over the years. I've never seen a place where such extremes in wealth, political views, ideals, and ways of life tend to coexist in such close proximity.

Almost killed in an ice storm out there in 2002 or was it 2003? Had to deliver a plane to Astoria along the coast. I got so iced up in the mountains I had to land at cruise speed to keep control from all the ice. The weather is as wildly extreme as the people.

They seem like they are otherwise nice people, or at least have not done society much harm. No criminal records or such.

Did you read posts #91 and #92? According to the court record, this man was serving time in prison for armed robbery when this woman's mother divorced him.

As I tell my kids, people can come across as nice, just because they smile and look friendly, but actions speak louder than words. How nice was it for this woman to cheat on her husband - the father of her first two children - with her own father? How nice was it for this man to cheat on his wife - the mother of his other child - with his own daughter?

Blackdog, I don't like when people rush to judgment, either, but in this case, we have enough information to make a judgment. Yes, people make mistakes, and sometimes they make the most nightmarish mistakes imaginable. I'm not a perfect person myself. No one is. The point is, we repent.

This father and daughter didn't have a father-daughter relationship, and that's probably why she related to him as a man who was not her father. But then, not only did they both cheat on their spouses and actually sleep with each other, they continue to sleep together and see nothing wrong with it. They don't repent at all.

That is one messed up family. Daddy goes off to prison and returns 30 years later to knock up his daughter. I’m so disgusted! I feel so bad for that little girl. They have nothing good to offer her.
