What bugs me is that CMT promoted this piece of crap. Hollywood just doesn't get it, do they? America is tired of anti-war movies.
I wonder how many more “anti-war” movies have to flop before Hollywood wakes up and stops making them???
Every dollar leftists thow away making loser leftist movies is a dollar they don’t have to give to leftist candidates, plus they keep all Hollywood’s real workers (set carpenters, electricians, etc.) employed and paying taxes. I see it as a win-win situation, really...
And there sure is a lot to be said for the old old school:

Maybe it is no longer old fashioned to love your country and those who fight for it. Those progressive liberals just want us to think so.
I think the Duke sums up a lot here too:

God bless men like John Wayne and all those who will take a stand.
And I must say that I sure miss men the Duke.
Well, they probably didn't know the connotations of what they were promoting.
Country music can tend to make it's listeners really ignorant.
CMT is owned by MTV Networks, which produced the film. I don’t imagine CMT was givne any choice.
I don’t think Hollywood will ever get it. They just can’t get the fact that most of America don’t share their anti-America, anti-military, anti-war views.
Therefore, most of America won’t pay money to see their anti-war, leftist propaganda garbage.
Unlike rap music which turns it's listeners into geniuses?
If you listen to country music and think all other music is rap, my point is proven.
What is known as “country music” is mostly “demographically-determined drivel” controlled by corporate “suits” who work with radio’s corporate “suits” to put a few songs in there between the commercials. That’s why more people every day are turning off their radios and getting their music elsewhere. Yes, the same lefty mindset or worldview that infects Hollywood has also gained significant ground in “country music”. Whether it be movies or whatever genre of music you care to name marketed to mass public appeal, the corporate decision makers think we’re all stupid which is why they produce crap. And then can’t figure out why it doesn’t sell. We see the posts noting the “Dinosaur Media Death Watch” every day on FR, usually geared toward news media, but the same thing is happening in other forms of media.
Th Dixie Chicks are proud
For you to know this, you must listen to country music. Have you noticed a decline in your intelligence since listening to country?
Nah, I just use observation.
I’m a relatively recent convert to country music. It is probably the most literate genre in popular music. Check out some lyrics by Brad Paisley.”On Line” or “My Letter to Me” are good examples.
CMT is full of young turks and execs - I bet most aren’t even familiar with CW music. Most CW music nowadays isn’t even country. BTW, I read where the movie BOMBED at the box office.
Keep bashing.
I used to believe that everyone who didn't like what I liked was just "wrong;" but that was a long time ago. I also used to believe that I could just change people. That was about as long ago.
Yes, it does.
It's a darn shame the music itself SUCKS so bad.
Hey, everyone has their preferences.
"Can" and "does" are different worlds. I think if you dislike the genre, then dislike the genre. But don't paint those of us who like the music with a broad brush.
I've been to country music festivals where I felt uncomfortable because of the drinking, crowdedness and rowdiness. But that isn't caused by the music, it is rather a reflection of what happens when you get large numbers of people together...the same would be happening, and probably to a greater degree, with almost any other kind of music with a "mass appeal"...hip hop, rock, etc.
I would submit to you that country music is the home of the most patriotic, family-friendly, life-affirming songs this side of gospel. Sure, we still have drinkin' and cheatin' songs...and we have our left wingnuts like Willie Nelson and Tim McGraw.
But country music fans for the most part are more definitely God-fearing, country-loving, and family embracing than your average Joe Schmo. I wouldn't consider us ignorant, let alone "really" ignorant. :)
