I’m sure the citizens of South Carolina are glad their representatives are focused on such pressing issues.

All one need do is argue that lap dances have to be allowed so the blind can enjoy/appreciate the dancers art. Much in the same way elevators have Braille pads on them.

He says there's no constitutional right to lap dances.

Would that not fall under the pursuit of happiness?

Does this mean that couples can't do that booty rump humping dance on dancefloors anymore either?

Will dance clubs have chaperons with a ruler to keep couples apart?

Cry and scream as some might the state has a right to ban this if the people of that state want that standard. I support their right to do this. Don’t know if it is the right fight right now but I see it as the states right.

“He says there’s no constitutional right to lap dances...”

Wrong..Amendment IX The enumeration in the Constitution of certain rights shall not be considered to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

I think that covers lap dancing....

Stupid nanny-state morons wanting to protect the citizens from themselves. Dancing is a form of expression and suppressing free speech in this form is simply about saying you don’t approve of how they choose to live. I hope the courts smack them down bigtime.

Memphis TN is considering similar ordinances for it shake joints. Some are saying it will cost the city 3-5 million dollars in beer taxes.

It's right in the Constitutional language next to where they found the "emanations of the penumbra for privacy and hence abortion rights."

Exotic dancers would have to stay six feet from strip club customers and those businesses would have to close at midnight

The U.S. Congress wastes it's time with the baseball steroids scandal and the South Carolina legislature wastes time worrying about lap dances.

I guess the positive is it keeps legislators from doing as much damage as usual while they're in session.
