When Bill Richardson returned to New Mexico from the U.S. presidential campaign trail in January, he was more than defeated; he was trounced. He got polite applause in the rotunda of our state Capitol when he boldly proclaimed, "I'm back."There were no brass bands, no parades, no streamers, no lines of admirers reaching for autographs.
Richardson is back, but New Mexicans have come to know him well enough to recognize that he is back long enough only to wait for the next opportunity that might whisk him away to ... Washington, D.C., and beyond. In truth, Richardson is doing all he can to position himself for a White House call if one of his former presidential competitors triumphs come November.
Meanwhile, as suggested first by the somewhat restrained reception he received upon his return to New Mexico last month, Richardson's stock in the state he leads appears to have taken a dip if not a dive.
Known for his hot temper behind closed doors, Richardson bristled publicly at the suggestion and defiantly challenged anyone who considers him a lame duck ...
State legislators, actually, did precisely that. Richardson's clout was tested this year perhaps more than ever by lawmakers, who adjourned last week after completing a scheduled 30-day session. Key items on the wish list sent to legislators by Richardson got scant attention and, again, the governor was not happy. He promptly said he wants a special session. Translation: more wrangling.
Gov. Didn't Get Warm Welcome (NM-the shine's off Richardson's star)
Let’s hope he doesn’t kill somebody. :^(
And how.
LOL!
I had one of those phones and I thought I looked so cool with that phone! HA.
Be care3ful...Gore may just be the next Pres. LOL>
Good catch. What a creep this guy is. Richardson, too.

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
LOL!!!
Clinton prefers NCAAW basketball.
Ellen Ratner on F&F this morning claims that Richardson was essentially promised the position of SECSTATE under an Obama administration; which is why he endorsed the obamasiah.
your analysis: Spot on!
Omygosh! That’s HIM!

I guess it’s too much to expect that the American public remembers or cares about things like Los Alamos....

No kidding. The crime rate for Roswell (44k population)

Certainly, but I remember when Roswell was a nice safe town. I think many places still are. I looked Alamogordo, which I would have expected to have bad stats, but they looked pretty good in comparison.

Nah, just your typical half-Scottish/half-Mexican nerd with a taste for loose women.
