How Bill Decided on Barack (NM-Richardson)
The Albuquerque Journal ^ | March 23, 2008 | Michael Coleman

Posted on 03/23/2008 5:03:57 PM PDT by CedarDave

Gov. Bill Richardson told Barack Obama he would endorse him 10 days ago, but the two high-powered Democrats kept it a secret until Friday because of Richardson's long-planned Caribbean vacation with his wife.

The governor, in an interview with the Journal late Friday, said he called Obama on Monday and told the Democratic presidential front-runner that he would, in fact, give him the endorsement he had been doggedly pursuing for weeks.

Obama suggested they make the announcement on Wednesday, but that would have forced Richardson and his wife, Barbara, to cut their vacation two days short.

The governor's wife, who dutifully supported him through a long presidential campaign that kept him on the road for weeks at a time last year, wasn't having it. "She put her foot down," Richardson said with a laugh ...

Richardson ... said he dreaded telling Hillary Clinton about his decision. But it needed to be done, and Richardson finally connected with Obama's rival by phone at about 9 p.m. Thursday after she finished a campaign rally.

"It wasn't one of our better conversations," Richardson said. "We talked for a good three minutes; it was a candid conversation. It got a little tense but we ended up in good terms.

"I told her I had utmost respect for her and my endorsement had to do more with party unity and the fact that I believe Obama is something special, something very good for the American political system," Richardson said.

~~snip~~

The New Mexico governor said he did not ask for, nor did he receive any commitments, about a plum job in an Obama presidential administration. "Nothing came up— it didn't even enter into the discussion at all," Richardson said.

There is an idiot from FLA. who started his first rant in my lab against GWB. (ca. 2007 12/15) His stuff became history, and has no home. He is good at code but has no sense of the BOX. A great moron by all sense of the word.

I saw this asshole on Fox News Sunday.

Pardon the swear word, but there really isn't any other term to accurately describe this guy.

Useless megalomaniac, liar, and fool.

Did you notice that the beard, in his picture with Clinton - is GREY in Feb 2008:

In the picture with Obama in Mar 2008 -- it is dyed black..

Just like a whore - primping for his "John"....

Yep --- Fat little Dollar Bill - true to a whore's MO.
Get pretty, strut your stuff, make promises and settle on the price......

Except -- a true whore is more likely to deliver as promised, than is Dollar Bill.

I noticed that pic but wanted to wait on judgement. If Bill saw it how can you say they were unaware of his plans?

Oh, I agree that is part of the motive..
Politicians are all show, shine and $hi+ - no substance.
Hell - they’re worse than Hollywood “actors”...

Richardson has always been the poster child caricature of a feckless imbecile who could ONLY succeed in politics...

Richard and Obama were made for each other..

Obama denies and blames the White side of his family, while Richardson simply denies or ignores the White side of his family..

Look for a Obama/Richardson ticket this fall.

That's exactly what I figured, Barry O will cover his lack of experience with Richardson's resume.

Too bad, I was sort of enjoying watching Richardson licking gravy off of the Hildebeest's fingers, salivating at the idea of being her second VP right behind Bubba. I guess the drool would stick to that new facial hair he's grown. Usually, I don't find facial hair to be a significant positive addition to a man's face, but cripes, pre-goatee he looked like George Lopez' baby pictures!

Even though he favors the Chinese over the US for state secretes, at least Bill Richardson has his priorities straight on one topic: its the beach over Barak every time.

What a weasel — Richardson is clearly out for Richardson himself. The people of NM went for Hillary, and by Barak’s own position, the superdelegates should vote with their people . Bill spit on the people of NM because clearly Senator Obama offered him more than BillandHill did.

An article a couple of weeks ago in the ABQ Journal, written by a former Richardson speech writer, said that Bill's looking to get back to Washington any way he can. It's common knowledge so not surprising that he'll hitch his wagon to whichever candidate can get him there. We in NM will be overjoyed to see him go, including Democratic legislators who had all of their capital outlay bills vetoed because they wouldn't play ball with King Bill's Hillary-lite health care proposal.

It's a stunningly beautiful state, and wifey and I could probably find a place to retire there, but that state's quirky political leanings have always pretty much ruled it out.

Better bring your gun if you come. NM is ranked third most dangerous state to live in behind NV and LA. Drugs, gangs, violent crime and burglary are rampant.
