Ever since Barack Obama delivered his much praised but inadequate race speech on Tuesday, the editorialists have been telling us how much we need a national dialogue on the subject. Right. It's high time. So here's my contribution: Rev. Jeremiah Wright's remarks about America were the worst things said about my adopted country since I came here from England in 1962. Louis Farrakhan and Malcolm X are not in the same league as this champion of race hatred from Chicago. Imagine if Senator John McCain had for years been a member of a church where a white pastor said that blacks should go back to Africa where they came from. And McCain were to respond: Well, I disagree with his remarks and I reject what he said but I won't disassociate myself from him, because he has been so important to my life. McCain would be out of the race in the blink of an eye. Yet Obama has not felt the need to distance himself from Pastor Wright. The New York Times has praised Obama's speech as a "profile in courage." That is baloney -- reflecting the gross double standard that has prevailed for decades on the subject of race. The underlying problem is that the liberals who still control so much of the debate quietly agree with much of what Wright said.

Obama has suffered a fatal wound, of that I am sure. He may not know it yet, because he is surrounded by liberals, both black and white, who share his worldview. He is being intereviewed by starry eyed TV personalities like Anderson Cooper, who only re-inforce his handlers glowing reviews of his speech. But make no mistake about it, in the homes and offices around the country, on forums like FR, the issue is being discussed, and the conclusion the vast majority of the populace is reaching is 180 degrees from what Obama and his minions think.
It may be by the convention in Denver that this fatal wound is exposed for all the liberal establishment to see, or it may not be until the general election. We the people have for the first time seen what Obama is about, and there is no way the patriotic, proud people of this land will ever elect a man such as Obama to the highest office in the land.
Which is exactly why chicago politics in being invoked. The election will only be the prop. You have to factor in the spector of race riots, Florida being completely fluid, and who knows what else.
Election-schmelection. Get set for an all-out war.
No, it's the white people who are "typical."
Obama is a socialist, Marxist, anti-American candidate. However, it would have been difficult to defeat him in today’s “give me freebies” government climate. It is ironic that what may defeat him are his racist opinions about white people which are especially troubling given that he was raised by a white surrogate parent. Those 20 years in a pew in an anti-white, anti-American church have done their job. Dr. MLK must be turning over in his grave seeing his dream of a multiracial tolerant society being torn into pieces by other African-Americans.
So he would be half typical?
Yes Obama is a Marxist and his preacher is a racist lunatic but Obama is a Muslim too ,proof:

That is what is going on today. That is their ploy. I've actually heard two liberals try to claim moral equivalence between Jeremiah Wright's screeds and Francis Schaeffer claiming the sovereignty of the individual over government which supports moral breakdown to the extent of promoting abortion and homosexuality.
Don't let them falsely claim such moral equivalence.
Great column thanks.
I have heard some guests on Fox News shows defending the “church” because they offer day and provide social services. So, what we have learned is that racism is okay as long as you provide day care and some social services.
“...they offer day and provide...” = theyprovide day care and provide...
According to articles on Wright’s “church,” the Rev has no problem with abortion.
So do Palestinian and Islamic terror groups in Gaza and Lebanon.
Indeed. I find it mindboggling that some of the worst behaviours can be excused so long as one offers day care and some social services.
Interesting....
