A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

It seems a lifetime ago that I ate meat.. but I did like the “bar” (no sportsbars at that time) pastrami & also corned beef.. sliced very thin & with swiss cheese.
Where we lived there weren’t the great Jewish Delis with the meats.
For mom two days ago, I got a pound each of the corned beef & the swiss cheese.. meat was 8.99 pound & cheese 7.99 pound. I got a small serving of Kraut from the Jewish deli(2.50) which will be a scant amount on three sandwiches.. and using thousand Island dressing. She enjoyed it....she hasn’t had that for a couple years acutally.. I dont think I bought her a corned beef meal last St. Pats day.
Well, I am a whipped out pup.. and need to sleep soon. Need to check a few other message sites & get some sleep.
Sweet dreams jaycee & to everyone else here at the Finest.. See you all tomorrow for JH2 day!

That was indeed a great presentation at post #46.
And speaking of Merle Haggard, he is gonna be here in concert in the near future. He worked a lot of clubs/bars around these parts in his early years.

Thanks for your kind words. It is getting a little easier to deal with each day. The hardest part is seeing the empty kennel. We just moved and have not had a chance to put up a fence. I hated keeping him in the kennel, but it was all we could do. It is a very big kennel 10 x 20, but not what I like for my pets.
Anyway, thanks again for the sympathy. It helps alot.
Hope Trubble gets better soon Meg.

They are so cute, but they are not called the masked bandits for nothing. Hope the mess wasn't too big.
Your church sounds like something I would like. I really need to look more into that type of church. We are kind of gun shy when it comes to joining churches. We had a very bad experience with one church back in Louisiana. Too much politics.
Supper sounded good even though you had to improvise.

Just read about your precious ‘Spot’. All of a sudden my screen became terribly blurry....you and I are having the same problems! I have lost beloved pets and its a hurt that we can’t truly explain.
Guess Spot is romping with the others across Rainbow Bridge and I have dogs and cats there also. Bless you this morning!

I have been having the same problem with my computer screen lately. Blurry and hard to see. I must also be having an allergic reaction to something because my eyes start to water and I have to sniff alot.
I hope he is romping. Before he crossed the bridge, he couldn’t walk at all anymore. He joined his pal Lucky who we lost about 2 months ago to kidney failure. He was 14.
Both wonderful dogs who loved and protected our children as well as the home. I will try to hunt down a picture of Lucky and post it.
Thanks for your kind words.

Beautiful tulips, Meg. Thinking of you, your daughter and Trubble. Doesn’t sound good....all these animals leaving us lately has kept me so choked up. Animals are so sweet and innocent and there is such a tenderness in my heart when folks lose their pets.

Who Holds The Cup?
Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me? John 18:11
Are you being called to taste some bitter cup of pain or loss? Are you tempted to push it away? You may be wondering, Is God in this situation? If so, recall the dark and distressing experience of Jesus and His example on the night of His betrayal.
We must never forget that Jesus was the God-Man, with both divine and human natures. He therefore recoiled from the prospect of agonizing crucifixion and the ordeal of having the worlds sin heaped on His sinless soul. And worst of all, He shuddered at the thought of being abandoned by His Father. So He pleaded, If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me (Matt. 26:39). Yet after that He said in trustful submission, Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me? (John 18:11). He knew that the hand, which would for our redemption hold the cup to His lips, was not the hand of Judas or Caiaphas or Pilate. It was the hand of His loving Father intent on redeeming our lost human race.
Baffled by the mystery of such love, we take our stand on Calvary and believe that any cup we drink is held to our lips by the Father of fathomless love and wisdom. Our prayer is that of trustful submission because we believe that even lifes most bitter cup is held in the Fathers hand.
Death and the curse were in our cup
O Christ, twas full for Thee!
But Thou hast drained the last dark drop
Now blessings there for me. Anon.

Thank you for your tender words..I don't expect any
news of Trubble until later today . I am trying to remove
the heavy bricks that seem to be piled on my chest and
to prepare myself if the news is worse.
Dolly I always enjoy seeing your dog romps!
