A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Welcome to Warm Fuzzy Wednesday at the Finest. For those who start counting the days on Monday until the weekend, we're halfway there! So we're here to banish those doldrums and make you smile inside! Please feel free to post sweet graphics and/or little stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy - or just come by and give us a smile. Only two more days 'til the weekend!

Oh I am so very sorry about your baby.. what a beauty... There are no easy answers & no one can feel the pain & the emptiness you now experience. Grief is so individual.

Just know there are others here who understand and have said goodbye to their precious furry kids with broken hearts.

We each have our stories & most of us still bear the pain even after years.

Thinking of you!

Thanks for your kind words. It's funny how a little sympathy goes a long way sometimes.

I don't think it would have been so hard if it weren't for the fact that we also lost our other dog two months ago.

They were both males and the other one was an Australian shepherd. Spot and Lucky. They were both really old. I think I will be careful not to get two pets the same age again. That way they won't both go so close together.

I am sorry for your daughters friend also. What a beautiful animal. My son wants one just like that next, but I think I am ready for something smaller.

Thanks again.

Thank you.. actually it was not too cold.. in low 40s or high 30s.. now depending on where you live this is cold or warm.

for NE Ohio it is pretty warm for this time of year. About a week ago we were out in almost 2 feet of fallen snow -with higher drifts - & the wind chill was 20 below zero.. (yes, still walked the dogs..just bundled up)

I am supposed to be leaving for Bible study in a few minutes but it is snowing like crazy & just looked at the radar & it is really socked over us.

Think I will pass as my van just is old & unreliable. I actually have a break from my regular one (We just finished Genesis & will start Exodus next week). Our Christian group will be doing the study with the local jewish group... should be great.

I was going to one of our “Mo group” dinner & Bible studies tonight. Our church is called Momentum Christian & the small groups that meet (about 10 groups) at various homes Tues - Thurs are called “Mo Groups”. There is dinner, a game & bible study.. child care provided..

Well, guess I will round up my own food & just stay safe & warm

That sounds like a good idea. Stay safe and warm, especially if the van is acting up.

We are pretty warm in comparison here. I think it is in the upper 50's. We are getting rain now, which we could use because of the drought that we had in GA. We could do without the tornados for a while though. Atlanta will be rebuilding for quite some time.

I wish I could find a good bible study group. Of course, we would actually have to decide on which church we want to go to. We have been frequenting two different Baptist churches, but are not really baptist. We moved here not long ago and are still hunting a good church where we will fit in.

I would need the child care though. I have a 2 year old and 6 year old. They keep me running. I am going to start homeschooling my son (6 yo) next year. I had planned to do that from the start, but the 2 year old came along when he was starting Kindergarden and I had my hands full just feeding, changing, rocking and sleeping. Now she is a little more self sufficient.

I plan to start her on the 2 and 3 year old preK stuff. Wish me luck.

Late Breaking News report from Modesto CA...

A crowd of one gathered on the sidewalk outside the Armed Forces Recruiting Center in North Modesto, CA this morning.

The crowd was seen carrying two signs - “Land of the Free Because of the Brave” and “Honor Our Troops” along with a small American Flag.

Lots of “Thumbs Up” signals were passed to the crowd and horns were being honked in support of the crowd.

It must also be noted that the crowd was not flipped off during the 1-1/2 hour demonstation.

A crowd spokesman, DD, a Navy Veteran, stated that the crowd will likely gather later in the afternoon to challenge the rush-hour drivers to indeed Honor Our Troops.

I truly do not believe we should put dye on these little chicks but I found these today and yes, they are cute to look at. I don't know if they still allow this or not!

Darn it, I am so mad! I need a vacation, I believe. The first one with the baby chicks to Billie, I thought I had it cancelled because I wanted more names in the To:box.

Then, I did it again and still forgot to put everyone’s names in the address and they both got through. Don’t you think I do need a couple of weeks in Hawaii? Vote yes!

Finding a congregation that meets your needs spiritually & is convenient geographically is a challenge often.

I hope you find one that is “you”. I go to an Independent Christian church that is very conservative in doctrine but contemporary worship.

It is me.. but surely not everyone’s cup of tea.

Drat.. just had a weird thing occur. I went to make mom here 2nd Reuben.. I had two slices of bread in frig for first & went to garage (the second refrigerator) to get another loaf of rye bread.

Both it & the loaf of wheat are gone & there is a bit of a mess (well the whole garage is a mess, but I mean where the food was). I suspect one or more raccoons found their way in & had a fiesta. Not sure what else is missing as the light is very poor ..

so I made her sandwich in a tortilla shell & used the Foreman grill.. I made mine just cheese/tomato & thousand Island dressing.. It was good.

Reuben’s are my very favorite. There is a nice little rest. at the Mall that makes the best I have ever eaten. Its a little fancier restaurant...you can have filet mignon if you want it and they serve drinks. My husband sold to them and we went there a lot to eat.
