A new report in the journal Science concludes that sea levels are going to fall over millions of years.

This makes the current rise in sea levels (blamed on global warming) a "brief interruption" of an ancient geological trend. In the big picture which global warmers can't seem to grasp the oceans are getting deeper. Sea levels have actually fallen 560 ft since the Cretaceous period 80 million years ago ... that would be the time of the dinosaurs for those of you educated by the government.
Improved computer models studying the shifts of tectonic plates show more ocean deepening and further sea level decline of about 394 ft over the next 80 billion years. If sea levels were to fall immediately, Russia would be connected to Alaska, Britain would be a part of mainland Europe, and you could drive to Nassau.
Lead author of the study Dietmar Muller of the University of Sydney says, "If we humans still exist in 10, 20 or 50 million years, irrespective of how ice caps are waxing and waning, the long term ... is that sea level will drop, not rise." So even if all the ice in Antarctica and Greenland melted, in millions of years the ocean levels would still drop.
Now this is for you warmers out there ... a little blast from the past from the NOAA predicting a warm winter season.

Somehow it just didn't work out that way.
It is warming here in Texas up to 40 today and stop snowing all in March mind you.

It’s been a really cold winter this year in the Midwest, I wish this global warming would ‘kick in’ already. Also, we’ve gotten LOTS and LOTS of ‘global warming residue’ (much more than average), aka snow, to shovel.
“... further sea level decline of about 394 ft over the next 80 billion years.”
That’s off by three orders of magnitude.
Since I agree with everything else in the article, it’s clear it was just a typo.
Here we are under a global warming watch. The warnings along with winter storm advisories should start this evening.
What a week, huh? Near 80 last Saturday, 70s Sunday, snow, 70s again, snow again. Winter ... all in one week. I'm glad it's over.
According to 'Greenpeace'--we are now in 'Threat Level ORANGE'....lol
Al Gore thinks tectonic plate action is caused by global warming. He must, because he says global warming causes earthquakes and volcanic eruptions as well as mysterious Ice Ages (but only in the present period, he ignores the past ones)
Back to the article...
Suppose to be 65 Sunday.
You can drive to Nassau, you just need to drive a boat.
Got THAT wrong, didn't they?
Algore doesn’t ever mention that saltpetre causes thunderstorms. There’s a lot he doesn’t know. BTW, anybody seen Algore lately?
Geological cycles recurring over hundreds of millions of years and the “global warming” the snivelling, private property hating anti-capitalists go on about are two entirely different things.
He’ll be back in a month, when the globe starts warming up again.
Isn't he still out maximizing his carbon footprint by jetting all over the world to tell people they should buy his carbon credits in order to minimize THEIR carbon footprints? (And that Bush is evil and stole the 2000 election?)
