In July of last year, Hillary Clinton gave an interview to New York Times reporter Michael Luo about her faith. Its a fairly in depth interview. Well, for your listening pleasure, The Brody File found the actual audio from the interview and its real interesting.
Reading the transcription of the interview is one thing but hearing Hillary Clinton talk about her faith is very different. Listen here. You can read the transcription here.
At the time, the article got significant play but some of the quotes from the whole interview never got used in the article. Here are some key quotes that I thought you might be interested to look at:
Hillary Clinton: I believe in the father, son, and Holy Spirit, and I have felt the presence of the Holy Spirit on many occasions in my years on this earth.
Reporter: Can I ask you theologically, do you believe that the resurrection of Jesus actually happened, that it actually historically did happen?
Senator Clinton: Yes, I do.
Reporter: And, do you believe on the salvation issue -- and this is controversial too -- that belief in Christ is needed for going to heaven?
Senator Clinton: That one Im a little more open to. I think that it is, as we understand our relationship to God as Christians, it is how we see our way forward, and it is the way. But, ever since I was a little girl, Ive asked every Sunday school teacher Ive ever had, I asked every theologian Ive ever talked with, whether that meant that there was no salvation, there was no heaven for people who did not accept Christ. And, youre well aware that there are a lot of answers to that. There are people who are totally rooted in the fact that, no, thats why there are missionaries, thats why you have to try to convert. And, then there are a lot of other people who are deeply faithful and deeply Christ-centered who say, thats how we understand it and who are we to read Gods mind about such a weighty decision as that.
Reporter: And your attitude toward the Bible about how literally people should take it...
Senator Clinton: I think the whole Bible is real. The whole Bible gives you a glimpse of God and Gods desire for a personal relationship, but we cant possibly understand every way God is communicating with us. Ive always felt that people who try to shoehorn in their cultural and social understandings of the time into the Bible might be actually missing the larger point that were supposed to take from the Bible.
I swear, EVERYTHING that comes out of this woman’s mouth is a lie.
But, by golly, she’s good at it!
Back in the 90’s I used to think Bill Clinton was the Anti-Christ. Over time it dawned on me that he wasn’t, he was married to her.
Could it have been.....SATAN?
That's a very easy claim to make, and almost impossible to prove either
a) That the speaker has genuinely experienced the presence of any spiritual being or
b) that the spiritual being in question actually is The Holy Spirit.
Lots of folks feel free to make the claim, though, to support their particular beliefs. In doing so, they make themselves their own particular ultimate authority.
You said it. Funny how Clinton didn’t mention faith until the Christian voters turned out for ‘04.
But, by golly, she's good at it!
Yes, probably why she was so good on SNL - she's always acting.
Yet she supports the killing of the innocent unborn.
Ahhhh! Get it away from me!
Satan believes in the Father, Son & Holy Spirit...correlation? I think so!
Hmmm...
I guess the cackle is really speaking in tongues
Actually twice.
I’ll never forget the photo-op of him and Hillary coming out of church, him biting that lip for the camera as he clutches a Bible, knowing full well he’s going into the deposition the next day and lie his ass off.
I know many liberal Christians and they are quite sincere in their faith.
I don't think attacking someone's religion gets our cause anywhere. I'm disappointed in the level of venom on this thread.
I know I’ll feel the Holy Spirit when she loses.
So am I! Or my name isn’t Larry!
possibility that there are different methods of believing in Christ.
Please give scriptures?
Wait until the DUmmies hear about this!
The Holy Spirit and Eleanor Roosevelt should leave Hillary alone!!!
