An open letter to Jim Robinson: Consider a general amnesty for all the banned Rudy supporters....
o

Posted on 03/05/2008 1:11:46 PM PST by ken5050

Dear Jim..OK, the GOP now has its candidate. McCain isn't the first choice of the majority of us on FR, and even now, there are spirited, yet for the most part, civil exchanges on the threads as to whether or not some will support the GOP nominee. One of the more unfortunate, and unpleasant events on FR was the mass banishment and/or leaving of a great many Freepers who were supporters of Rudy Guliani for the nomination. I'm posting this to see if you'd be open to the idea of inviting them to return, and see how others might feel about this.

Patrick Henry, Radio Astronomer, Millee, martin fiero, Fierce Allegence, HOTTIEBOY

Patrick Henry -- science/evolution threads, not a Rudyite IIRC. Now on Darwin Central ("on behalf of the Grand Master, I am, Patrick Henry")

Radio Astronomer -- both on DC and WA. Apparently flamed someone with obscenities, and was banned during the bugzapper thread.

Millee -- I recall the name but not much else. (Sorry!)

martin_fiero -- still here as far as I know (Industrial Strength Humor *PING* with uproarious photos)

Fierce Allegiance -- remember the name, haven't seen around for awhile. Now I know why.

HOTTIEBOY -- used to do the Astronomy Pic of the day.

Cheers!

I didn’t say that all of the disruptors are gone. I’m well aware that you and some others remain. But the overall quality has improved. We have more conservatives and fewer liberals. And the worst offenders are gone. It must get lonely for folks like you.

“We have more conservatives and fewer liberals.” Not sure I agree - have the Rudy libs been replaced by the McInsane bots instead?

“And the worst offenders are gone. It must get lonely for folks like you.”

LOL....agreed.

You’re an example of the better quality FReeper I referred to in another post. It’s refreshing to have more FReepers like you, and fewer of the disruptors who are gone.

T’wit was an editor of Natl Review and to think I was always bugging him for a limerick. He never let on that he was such a hot shot. He was a great encyclopedia - I miss reading his medical, legal and conservative posts.

I miss txsleuth. She fell in with the ‘peach crowd’ but she was never mean or nasty like they were. She was always kind and a very intelligent poster. We joined around the same time and used to post back and forth but our roads on FR went down different paths when she went their way. I never understood it. You could disagree with her but she wouldn’t try to rip your uterus out over it like the others.

If they’re still being naughty, they may be over at Liberty Post where Maxx Linn for governor’s supporters went not that there were very many. Still naughty haughties should be permabanned.

T’wit was one of the finest conservatives, FReepers and people ever. I dearly miss his “morning banter” with 8mm each day.

I don’t want McCain. I can’t believe the worst guy after Ron Paul is the nominee.

The only area I thought RA was liberal in was his opposition to the pro-life movement. But when it came to that he and the other Darwinists tend to be downright hateful.

That's because they believe that "survival of the fittest" is not merely an empirical description, it is a moral imperative.

And the corollary, that *they* are the fittest.

Follwing the link to the Terri thread where RA cursed out the other FReeper, I have lost a great deal of respect for him...even though he is no longer here to defend himself.

No cheers, unfortunately.

I don’t think the McCain supporters compare to the old Rudyphiles in number or decibels. We do have more of them than any conservative site should have, but I still think we’re better off than we were.

First let me say I was banned once and am very greatful that I was allowed to return. I would also like to say that I hope at least a few of the banned never return. I have enjoyed their absence, and the relative peace. I do not vote for blanket amnesty- if it is in order at least make it case by case.

That isn't true; although that is what the propaganda wing of DC would have you believe.

Many engineer and scientist types are still here; but the ones that remain do not use their superior intellect as their nametag.

Cheers!

I didn't mean sad for us, I meant sad for them.

“Peach was a rampaging liberal, and frankly had an ugly personality to boot.”

A vile liberal if there ever was one. No tact, no humor, sent pings out to gang up on conservatives.

Ken,

I hold some views against the main tenets, but I still must humbly, respectfully, observe that those former FReepers were not booted for the views they held. They are not here now because of the discordant way they expressed their opinion.
