LGF's description of this story:
A man (thats how the media are identifying him right now) is comatose and in critical condition in Las Vegas, and presumptive tests indicate that a substance found in his hotel room is the deadly poison ricin.

“A man”? More like a corpse I’d say.

Two possibilities come to mind.
- A terrorist had used the room and this poor "man" is an innocent victim.
- More likely-based upon the lack of identification of the "man"-this guy IS a terrorist hoisted on his own petard.

FBI has announced this has nothing to do with terrorism,
do NOT profile Muzzies.

Some say he is a dedicated physician who was forced to do oncologic research in his '"Extended stay America" suite.
Alternative hypotheses including things that should make an inquiring mind go "hmmmmmm"
Found in Iraq:
* New research on BW-applicable agents, Brucella and Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF),
and continuing work on ricin and aflatoxin were not declared to the UN.
Still missing based on the UNSCOM report to the UN Security Council in January 1999,
when the UN inspectors left Iraq in 1998, they had been unable to account for:
up to 360 tons of bulk chemical warfare agents, including 1.5 tons of VX nerve agent
growth media procured for biological agent production (enough to produce
over three times the 8,500 litres of anthrax spores Iraq admitted to UN inspectors to having manufactured);

Hey, I was making chili the other day, and wound up soaking castor beans instead of navy beans, y'know... And then I put them in the Cuisinart, y'know... And I make Ricin, like, by accident!!!

It’s a great day to be in Las Vegas. I had a colonoscopy a few months ago (guess where), and this motel is a few blocks from where I work.
Sheesh!

He was just making his own castor oil and drank the wrong part. Perfectly understandable mistake — it happens all the time.

Pretty good assumption I’d say.
