What about Angry Black Man?

:Please excuse my writing skills. I am not a writer and I am not attempting to pass myself off as one. I just enjoy sharing my mind.:

There was a op-ed piece titled, “In election 2008, don’t forget Angry White Man”, written by Gary Hubbell, a columnist with the Aspen Times Weekly. In column Mr. Hubbell described the attributes of ‘The Angry White Man’, basically stating that the Angry White Man isn't being represented in this election period. Not that I totally disagree with this notion, but Mr. Hubbell alienates all of the Angry White Man’s fellow patriotic Americans - The Angry Man of Color and the Angry Woman.

I am an Angry Black Man so I will give my perspective to this piece, respectively.

Every minority group has preferential representation of some sort - homosexual or transsexual, Black to Latino (given that they are liberal), handicapped to season citizens, and yes, even the Angry White Man.

The Angry White Man is usually represented by his choice candidates, but feels a bit of bamboozling on the rise. He is upset that he is unappreciated and overlooked by the party that he has always supported. This election is forcing him to put some of his fundamental principals to the side for the sake of the country, but what he doesn’t understand is that he’s not alone.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with him is the Angry Black Man. A minority within a minority, the Angry Black Man is barely recognized or considered. His politics make him a leper within his own community. He battles with a love/hate relationship with his own people. Names like Uncle Tom, house Negro, and race traitor are not uncommon to the Angry Black Man. Labeled a traitor to his own people, he continues to champion individualism.

The Angry Black Man - white or blue collar worker - must always be 2 steps ahead of his white counterparts so as not to get labeled as the ‘Token Black’. He despises affirmative action and worked hard for all of his acclompishments. He suffers from racism in the work place but doesn't file million dollar lawsuits against his company. He is also the ‘go to man’ when his white coworkers ask condescending questions beginning with “Why do black people...”.

The Angry Black Man is law abiding citizen. He is frequently labeled a rat and a snitch when standing up against the criminal activity in his neighborhood. He owns a gun and won’t hesitate to use it in defense of himself and his family, but is very apprehensive on using it for fear of the liberal court system. He is very familiar with law enforcements abuse of power and is occasionally a victim of racial profiling.

Al Sharpton never stands up for the Angry Blackman. The Angry Black Man is considered the Judas of the new civil rights movement but was the main contributor to the old. He is quick to declare that the race hustler do not represent his views but his declaration usually falls on deaf ears because of the media’s liberal bias.

When the Angry Black Man rises in politics he is ridiculed - pelted with Oreo cookies while giving speeches - and is often not supported by like-minded voters simply because of his color. He is haunted by the victim-hood vendors because he decided not to carry their products, disparity and entitlement.

With all of these adverse entities working against his moralistic values and principals, he still finds the courage -through God - to stand besides his melanin deprived brethren who shares the same conservative beliefs, The Angry White Man.

So, the next time around, it might be a bit more fitting recognize all of the Angry Americans who share your beliefs, but may have a darker tint to their outer shell or inverted genitalia.

Just a thought, not a commandment.

If a person whose race is “black” responds exactly like the person depicted in the Angry White Man piece, is he just confused or should his reaction be dismissed? How would we expect Alan Keyes, Dr. Walter Williams, or Thomas Sowell to respond?

There is an old saying: the person who defines the meaning of words controls the debate. To this I would add a derived warning: he who carelessly accepts those meanings has already lost the debate.

Now we have the next level of this old saying: he who defines how people should react based on their external characteristics is free to classify people against their will and to the favor of the social changes being advocated.

This is exactly how Marx and his ilk were able to divide and conquer society: by defining deconstructing society into “classes” who were “naturally” in opposition to each other.

And thus we have three superb minds who are utterly rejected and treated with contempt by the left because their opinions and reactions run so opposite of what the left insists people who have their skin color should have.

I dream of a day when people will be judged only by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin. I heard that somewhere...

This gives me cause for hope. Being an angry white man, I tend not to think there are those with the same principles who are another color. Heck, sometimes I wonder how many other white men like me are still out there. It’s lonely.

All we’re trying to be is like the men who settled this country, fought in two world wars, and suffered without complaint during the Great Depression. Those are the men I want to emulate, not some metro-sexual in touch with my feminine side wanting to understand and empathize with those who would destroy the uniqueness that is America.

I don’t want to be like Europe. We’ve bailed their butts out several times during the 20th Century. We may not be able to when the Muslim Jihadists invade from without and within.

Great post and nice to meet you ABM. We need to stay angry. How are we going to have unity with the likes of an Obama when his views are so diametrically opposed to ours? Unity means the watering down of our beliefs or completely going along with theirs.

There is an underground conservative/libertarian movement that consist of us young blacks as well as young whites. Rebellion is a good quality in this generation.
