My mom, at about 87, is going into Hospice tonight. She has "outlived the hardware" and has had a wandering mind for the past few years, but it has come to a head in the past 9 months or so, after my parents decided to get her a new knee. We have discovered all kinds of things dad wasn't mentioning after this point...aparently her kidneys were on the way to failing before the knee, and we found out about the problem when they did and she went into regular dialysis. She has been frail and in a nursing home for the past six months, and dispite my Dad's hopes and all our prayers, hasn't taken to the physical therepy, and wandring further and further off in her mind. They have stopped dyalysis so it is just a question of time.
Prayers for your mom and family.

Prayers for your mom, and all who love her.
Prayer bump
Oh prayers...of course...and a big ((((HUG))) to you...
From my experience with Hospice, you all have made a very wise decision.
Prayers for your family.
Been there twice recently, so I know how you feel. Prayers for Mom, you and yours.
Prayers for you and your family.
Prayers offered, 50sDad. May her passing into God’s arms be gentle.
God’s blessings and Prayers of comfort and strength for your Mom, You, and family.
How sad.
All my best to you and your parents.
Prayers for all, 50sDad.
Certainly prayers for your Mom and Dad both...
I had hospice for my dear husband last year, and they were wonderful. I know you feel numb right now, but I think that’s just because of the shock. After that wears off, and sadly it will, I encourage you to just spend as much time with your mom and dad as you can. Especially with your father, if he has a hard time showing feelings, he could be just destroyed and have no way to show it. Your presence will sure be a comfort, and may allow him to share his grief with yours.
And it isn’t just men...I had a hard time expressing my feelings until the funeral...I was too busy taking care of Rob in his final illness. Even with hospice, there was a lot to do...
Prayers going right out.
Prayers for your Mom, Dad and everyone in your family during this difficult time.
Prayers up, sir - hoping all goes well...
May The Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Prayers for all of you. The hospice in our area is wonderful, and I hope yours is also.
You’ve been in the process of losing your mom for quite a while now, it seems. Now you’re in the process of losing the shell that used to contain your mom...painful, yes, but not quite as painful as losing the person inside.
Thanks, Judith. I tried to relate my experience from last year...and couldn’t quite find the words. You found them.
The best you can do for all three of you now is just to be there, Dad. God will give you comfort and the knowledge of what to do. Listen in the stillness of your heart to know.
We’re all praying for you and your family.
