I believe that the voters in this Republican nomination contesthere in Virginia and across the countrydeserve a real choice. And Governor Huckabee is clearly the conservative alternative. He is the best choice, and he is my choice. So I am voting for him on Tuesday, here in Virginia.
I dont buy the idea that John McCain is a true conservative. Nor do I buy the idea that Mike Huckabee should get out of this contest. The people in the Potomac areaVirginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. In addition, we have many important states coming up, including my home state of Wisconsin. Folks in all those states deserve a choice a real choice.
I had been a supporter of Mitt Romney, but now I am very glad that Governor Huckabee has decided to stay in the race. I appreciate that he is staying in, just as I appreciate that Governor Huckabee and Senator McCain are not going at each others throatsa vigorous debate about important issues is the healthiest thing possible for the Republican Party.

"Hasbeen" is a more apt description.
Great News!
Go Huckabee - It’s on to Texas.

That’s great news. I’m glad that Paul and supports the same candidate as Jim Gilcrist and Dr. Dobson.
Why? Because he wouldn’t support a mentally unstable grandstanding liberal?
There has been a lot of talk about how the Reagan Revolution was the uniting of cultural conservatives with fiscal conservatives - the coalition of evangelical values voters and country club tax cut advocates.
Lately there has been talk that either the GOP is turning its back on values voters or that they are turning their backs on the GOP.
However, neither McCain nor Huckabee is a fiscal conservative. Huckabee is, however, a cultural conservative.
Of the four remaining presidential contenders in either party, not one is a fiscal conservative.
Overall, voter turnout has been going up and up, while third party votes have been going down and down.
So more Americans than ever are voting and more Americans than ever, as a percentage, are voting for one of the two major parties.
Where did these ignored conservatives go?
What? Not McCain, that paragon of conservatism?
Hasn’t Weyrich been listening: The Party Leadership and Wall Street Journal are sure McCain is the Man Of The Hour!
moderates do have a much better chance at winning than liberals or conservatives
Let me tell you how funny this is. Planned Parenthood is running radio ads in Virginia urging Republican primary voters to vote against McCain, because McCain is pro-life. My head is spinning.
mccain is a fiscal conservative unless you think a fiscal conservative means someone who likes to blow up with the deficit
yeah so they’ll vote for huckabee
not sure what they were trying to do
“No thanks, Huckabee is even further down my preference list than McCain. I may just write in Fred’s name in the primary.”
Dittos on that thought.
If you can’t vote McCain, dont vote McCain, but Huckster is even worse...
At some point, we should put a wrap on it and come together for the party ...
Do we want 4 years of Obama/Clinton/Carter type foreign policy at a time of war? Do we want Obama/Clinton/Carter type domestic policy at a time when the economy is shaky? Do we want their cultural leftism at a time when our culture is under attack?
The same McCain who has a 96% rating from NARAL???? He’s certainly a lot less pro-life than any other Republican left in the race. Unless, of course, they are already assuming he’s the candidate and are sort of jumping the gun on their general election ads...
Please post a new response that makes sense.
But one of the only things McCain has going for him is that he is a fiscal conservative. He's not a supply sider, and he was against the Bush tax cuts, but he has always tried to hold spending down.
A Hoover Republican?
:-)
He may be on your ballot already. He was in California’s even though he had dropped out.
