Rush Limbaugh Show | 2/11/08

Heard this afternoon on Rush's show, in response to a caller's question: 'Obama may get the most delegates, but he won't be the Democrat nominee. We're talking about the Clintons here.'

Not to mention that Obama might get 8 years, in which case the Dems would be left with what the GOP has this year - a VP who either won’t run or who can’t win because of age.

If I have things figured out correctly of the remaining delegates to be elected at the state level Obama would have to get 72.39% and Clinton would have to get 74.67% to get the nomination without the Super Delegates. That is a very tall order so it will be the Super Delegates that will choose their Candidate.

Obama Clinton 2008.
Black vote, check.
White vote, check.
Urban vote, check.
Youth vote, check.

We can beat Hillary. We might beat Obama maybe. If they join forces, ugh. The only thing worse is Obama Edwards.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Actually, I recall him saying last year “mark my words” Hillery would NOT be the nominee.

Wish I saved the date.

Yeah, Obama will beat Hillary according to the rules that were known before the primary season started,

however, Democrats, especially the Clinton Machine, knows that these rules can be challenged post-hoc in order to get the outcome that they desire.

It’ll be interesting to see what the left does when this happens - they were so upset about the USSC insisting that the rules are the rules and can’t be fudged to get your desired outcome... now Hillary is going to try the same thing on Obama.

Then he had better stay away from Ft. Marcy Park.

I hope he is right about this, but he doesn’t KNOW anything more than anybody else. If we asked him even two months ago if Obama would be in a position to force her to use the super delegates, would he have said this? I don’t.

they will cut a deal... she will be his VP.

She is a megalomaniac. She won't accept any VP slot. She'll steal the nomination and the Democrat Party will erupt in a civil war. He'll withdraw and build support for another run after she self-destructs. His new campaign slogan will be "See, I told you so..."

The Republican Party is so corrupt as to render your exhortation ludicrous. No one can get the nomination without becoming a part of that corruption.

If you think that's bad look at the dems. Why do you think that I have called it for years now the corrupt "Two-Party Cartel".

Kellyanne Conway gave a great presentation at CPAC in which she said among other things, Hillary has no loyalty among Dems because “no one owes her anything.” Apparently she has not campaigned for other Dems, and she built up some ill will by not sharing any of her tens of millions of dollars which she did not need in her 2006 reelection effort. Dems think they could have won even more seats if she hadn’t been so selfish with her $$.

So if Rush is right and they go with HRC even though she is losing state after state, it could perhaps be because they love Bill, or because they have the goods on a lot of people.

In any case, I think Obama is vulnerable too, but a lot of experts like Kellyanne think Hillary is eminently more beatable.

No, Hillary will be the Nominee....and Obama will be the VP. It’s pooling votes. The Motive for both is the same...White House AND CONGRESS!!

You and Rush were absolutely right. I pleaded with people to go vote Republican in 2006. Those of us who are not going to vote for McCain still need to go vote for all the other Republicans. It’s what I intend to do. No sense giving Obama more Democrats to work with. By all means, keep McCain from destroying the Republican Party, but don’t give it all away.

Well, blacks did gt the vote before women...

Now, that's a unique perspective.

I used to feel that way but when you consider the thousands of people she appoints from Supreme Court justices to cabinet secretaries and thousands of mid-level policy makers you start to appreciate how that all transcends the “podium politics” that we believe congress can hold in check.

McCain will also spout idiotic liberal crap but by virtue of his many Republican associations over the years there will inevitably be regular Republicans landing in all those appointed positions. That’s where more than half of Federal policy takes place. No one at the IRS and elsewhere will unleash a vendetta against Republicans the way it would if Hillary appointed and controlled the Federal Government.

Getting out my PC calculator here...

She is white, -1
female, +1
old -1

Obama is black, +1
male, -1
young +1

That yields Clinton -1, Obama +1.

Now you give her a point for cheating and Obama is still a point ahead.

Do “superdelegates” vote by themselves, or with their states’ delegation?........

I don’t have that faith...

The hypnotized stares of cult like worship in the Obama campaign stops the women weeping and misty eyed grown men listening to Obama sing a different tune...

I think Rush has missed the call here...
