Virginia Freeper Voting for Obama - Tomorrow
self | 02-11-08 | WL-Law

Posted on 02/11/2008 7:13:26 AM PST by WL-law

Tomorrow is, of course, primary day in Virgina.

The question is -- how can I get the biggest effect with my primary vote, on shaping the November election?

A protest vote against McCain, i.e., for Huckabee? Sorry, can't pull the lever for the Huckster. Just can't do it -- as George Bush 41 would say, "not gonna do it".

A protest vote for Romney? Maybe, and that's my initial impulse, but it's not clear what I buy for that.

Crossing over and voting for Obama? That's my inclination. I'm worried about the effect, one that'e been cited by many (I read it again today in the latest Susan Estrich column) about the "gap" between Obams's polling numbers (even the exit polls) versus the final reality of the private voting booth results, which get spun as "Hillary comebacks". As my father would say, "Comebacks my arse."

The polling gap is telling anyone that wants to notice that "some democrats are uncomfortable about race", and are lying about it even as they leave the polls, and while that's no surprise to conservatives, it's an especially worrisome factor right now.

We've heard all the talk about who, between Hillary and Obama, is the more formidable candidate against the repubs, but I take that all for idle chatter. One elementary fact I can say for certain, one thing that I know -- -- is that I cannot BEAR the thought of either Clinton in the White House again. So I'm going to break with Ann Coulter on this one -- for me it's visceral.

So -- my intent is to vote democratic tomorrow, and pull the lever for Barack. Remember the old Steve Martin bit. “Steve, how are you sooo funny?” His response - “I put baloney in my shoes, and then I feel funny! Perhaps I'll get the baloney out before I head to the polls. I know I'll get a funny look from the registrar of voters, who'se a personal friend of mine. I'll give her a wink as she says "oh my!"

I have little respect left for the way Presidential primaries are frontloaded for liberals in both parties. We still can’t vote until next month in Texas. I don’t think I could vote for either current democrat nominees in good conscience.

I agree that one truth that will emerge from this campaign season is that the primary system is a disaster.

It cured the "smoke-filled rooms" bogeyman, and now it's brought along another level of gaming and scheming. But arguably worse.

Coupled with McCain-Feingold, it's appointed the media as kingmakers. At least the smoke-filled rooms were filled with Republicans doing the smoking.

I’d never try to talk you out of it. You’re 100% correct.
Obama is Jimmy Carter. It took 4 years of Carter to give us Ronald Reagan. We MAY have to suffer through 4 years of Obama to get another real Conservative in 2012.

At least Obama is not Hitlery Rotton Clinton! She would do more damage to this country in 4 years that anyone could imagine. Think Joseph Stalin in a pants suit.

Let’s hope her reign of terror is stopped once and for all in the primary.

While I was wring my last response, the phone in my office just rang.

Frankly ... “I just can’t bring myself to vote for (pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, anti-IRS, pro-military) Huckabee, so I’m going to vote for the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate” ... doesn’t compute.

Take a look at Gore and Kerry. They are nothing now. Granted they lsot Presidential elections but...hillereee losing the dem nomination will prove she was not worthy and with other faces on the scene in the next several years she won’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. I want her defeated now and Obama is the man to do it. If he beats her for the nomination then you can vote for McCain or whomever wins the pubbie nomination. My concern right now is to beat hilllereee. Obama is the only one in their party now who can do it. That’s what I’m talkin’ about!!!!

I can’ talk you out of it, but you can by changing your mindset. Thinking along the line that...vote for someone running on the R ticket that won’t win anyway - that you are also opposed to. But don’t stain yourself w/the out and out liberal ticket. But McCain ISN’T an option!

Obama is more socialist but probably less diabolically evil than Hillary.

I must agree. Hillary wants to be emperess, and she has the political machine to do it. Obama just wants to be president. There may be no return from the agenda she foists upon the nation.

He may have marxist leanings, but he has no idea how to implement them, and no political machine, plus years of FBI files, to back him as he does it.

McCain has no chance to beat either of them, imo, as the winds of history are against us at this point.

You are "STUCK ON STUPID"

You don't like McCain. (You were a Romney guy,as I was). You hate Hillary. You think Obama will win.

I just can’t bring myself to vote for (pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, anti-IRS, pro-military) Huckabee, so I’m going to vote for the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate

The premise of his argument is about making a difference to the outcome of the election. Voting for the Huckster doesn't alter the outcome.

Strangely, she hung up before I could answer her, after I politely let her talk. Go figure!!

you’re nuts....

obama is a dangerous leftist; pro live birth abortion, entitlements for everyone, has already stated publically he won’t use nukes under any circumstances...he is a schiester in sheeps clothes and you are buying into it....

if the rats are already having a hard time embracing shrillary how can she win a national election??

a vote for hussien obama is a vote to secure putting a leftist appeasing live birth abortionist in the WH...

My brother has organized a conservative group who will be voting for Hillary. She’ll be much easier to beat.

Even Hillary Clinton doesn’t support partial birth abortion, unlike Moloch Obama.

Obama is worse than Clinton. There is no Clinton cult.

Yes there is a Clinton cult and it's already in Washington. The Obama cult is outside and can't really effect anything. Clinton will do far more damage then Obama can even think about. Obama if further left, but he doesn't have the history or stored up favors/dirt on people to make things happen.

Not that I'm voting for either, but if I were forced to choose between Hillary or Obama I'd go Obama.

All I can say to those who want Obama over Hillary ... be careful what you wish for. He is the most radical liberal member of the Senate ... he would be more difficult to defeat in November ... he would arrive with a massive "mandate" for "change" ... because of his race, popularity, and rhetorical ability he would be more difficult for congressional Republicans to oppose.

And again, the "I just can't vote for Huckabee" ... but I can vote for radical, liberal Obama ... that doesn't compute.

I think Obama would be harder for an old rino like McCain to beat.

McCain is OLDER than Bob Dole was in 1996.

A dumb choice unless you want RATS to win in Nov.

I know what you’re saying about RATS being racist but Hillary will be easier to beat even when you allow for that fact.

If Hillary is the nominee the Blacks in the RAT party will be Pi$$ed off beyond belief and so will the far left RATS that hate her.

All the Millions the RATS gave Osama Obama will have been wasted and those donors wont be giving to the beast for the general election.

Osama Obama does get some mindless mushy middle crossover voters and the Beast will never get them.

I would rethink that plan if it were my vote.
