Seems John McCain now wants to make time to attend CPAC this Election Year to court Conservatives.
Well some so-called Conservatives have resigned themselves to the fact that McCain is going to be the Republican Party Nominee, well I for one refuse to allow the media to cram McCain down our throats!!!
Bush has never governed like a Conservative, but at least he knew to pay his respects to Conservatives and never to stab us in the back, were McCain on the other hand has made it his business to stab Conservatives in the back at every chance to endear himself to the liberal left and its media.
There is no way in hell that McCain should be allowed to walk in to CPAC and sale us a bunch of bs.
When pressed to answer a question about illegal immigrants in his home state, Sen. McCain refuses to answer, while his supporters tell a woman who wants him to answer the question to shut up and she is thrown out of the town hall meeting. See the video here:

Voted YES on extending the PATRIOT Acts wiretap provision. (Dec 2005)
Here are some other reasons why we need to defeat McCain:
1. Wants to Close Gitmo. This would be counterproductive to our war on terror and endanger US citizens when these terrorists are given US Constitutional rights as US prisoners.
2. Against Water boarding. If McCain does not have the stomach to have the mastermind behind 9/11 aggressively interrogated, he should not have the power to send our soldiers into battle. This guy is more concerned about what the elite media and the socialists of Europe think of us than what the US military and citizens think.
3. Wants Trade Caps. McCain admits a limited knowledge of economics, as a 27-year Washington insider, and his support of this in the last debate will KILL JOBS.
4. Wants Carbon Taxes. This is another job killer based on the hoax of global warming. Raising taxes on businesses ALWAYS results in economic problems because businesses — the entities that create jobs — have to cut personnel, overhead and expansion to pay for the bogus taxes and stay profitable.
5. Admits Ignorance of Economics. See the previous two bullets as evidence of this. Romney has run businesses efficiently and he can bring that expertise to cut government and save taxpayer money.
6. Possible Kerry VP. McCain’s only allegiance is to McCain, not the American people. He is selfish and he demonstrated that in South Carolina when he said ‘it’s my turn.’
7. McAmnesty. The unenforceable provisions of the McCain / Kennedy bill would have amounted to a flood of millions of low-skilled workers from south of the border who see this as a free ride. There is no way that the government could collect $3000 from the 12-20 millions who are already here. To believe this is to have false faith in the efficiency of government. If you don’t secure the border first, there is nothing to stop millions of low-skilled workers from turning our nation into Mexico Norte.
8. Social Security for Illegals. This is another part of McAmnesty that shows McCain’s economic ignorance. The system has be turned over to the individuals who have been paying into it so they can use their money as they wish. Accepting illicit funds from illegals who have used stolen SSNs is not the way to fix social security.
9. Seriously Considered Leaving GOP. Again, it’s McCain’s way or the highway and I suspect that he’d be a democrat if he thought he could get elected as one. This was recently documented in an article on Politico.com.
10. Against Energy Independence. McCain is against drilling in ANWR and this keeps us more dependent upon foreign nations for our energy supply. This is unacceptable.
11. He voted against the Bush tax cuts. Even moderate democrats voted with Bush on the tax cuts that helped spur the economy in the wake of 9/11. The only other republican who voted with McAmnesty was Lincoln Chafee. Both guys should have their portraits in the RINO hall of shame.
12. Mainstream Media Favorite. The New York Times endorsed McCain and all TV networks love this guy because he attacks conservatives at every turn.
13. Phony Conservative Record. McCains 83% American Conservative Union rating is ONLY on pro-life votes, which is good but it does not tell the whole story. The fact that McCain / Fiengold attacked free speech and pro-life at the SAME TIME! Just ask the Wisconsin right-to-life folks (see link below). McCains OVERALL rating was 65%
I hope by “warm welcome”, you mean FLAMES!!
Campaign finance reform???? My ass still hurts; thank God we stopped the rest.
If MexCain is a conservative, I am the Pope.
I can give you a line that will get you in trouble if you want one.
Well, if they don’t let people take their sombreros in, everyone should start singing La Cucaracha when McCain gets up to speak.
There’s no Harriet Miers cuz republicans stopped donating to the RNC. It was a financial concern for the party. The Bushes luv a party.
Well, we’re gonna skip socialism and get right to communism in no time. Huckabee had a woman carried out of an event in San Fran. The GOP doesn’t like to be questioned as they view it as dissent. Dissent is not allowed in their big tent full of holes.
I wish I could be there.
Be sure to post pictures.
Really give it to him.
Go FReepers!!!!!!
I lived in California for 35 years of my life, and my parents are still there and none of us had ever heard of Hunter until this election.
Am in contact with many people all over the U.S.
Several on the East Coast and Mid West knew of Hunter
and his work with the Military and Border long before re ran for Pres.
It depends how much you follow politics, National and international affairs.
FReepers are about as well-informed a group as you are going to find anywhere, and most had never heard of him.
But what you’re arguing is that he WAS well-known, and lost miserably anyway.
You seem to have a personal problem with Hunter to keep this going.
I understand some FReepers didin’t like it that Hunter was a Viet name war vet and than his son a Marine Capt. did three tours in the current war.
And that he was the ranking member and Chairman of the Armed Services Comm. for over 25 yrs. and was the leader with legislation and in the front with the border fence and anti amnesty issues.
The media marginalized him while creating others.
The penality for being a conservative and not flip floping on issues over the years.
With Tanc, Huck, Brownbeck, and Fred all entering long after Hunter only ate into his campaign and they sure didn’t last long except for Huck.
Check with the ping list for him and huge number of FReepers all over the U.S.
To bad things are so boring and meaningless for you with the current campaingn that you can only find meaningless comments re Hunter.
What’s the matter with you? I have no problem with Hunter.
I have a problem with you claiming that he is well known, when clearly, even most politically aware people had never heard of him.
And YOUR position is a worse one for Hunter. Mine is that he wasn’t well-known enough to get off the ground. Yours is that even though he was well-known, nobody would vote for him.
Even though Hunter has the best qualifications than the
others to be President, I wanted to still see him out there to direct the discussions of policy, etc.
Some jumped on him for his trade policy and thought he was a protectionist but was trying to educate the people re out trade with China and wanted a level playing field.
When Hunter was getting that out, what do you know, Mitt has been now almost word for word saying the same thing.
Hunter would make a great VP or Sec. of Defense.
Fred was a good guy, remember him as Counsel on the Watergate Comm. You can’t enter waaay late and just mozie through the motions and bob out weeks later.
This took people, money, attention away from the serious candidates.
Mitt has some good policies but what is dragging him down
is his Ward Cleaver persona and Board Room speak.
