Insanity on FR (Vanity)
2/2/08 | tomnbeverly

Posted on 02/03/2008 4:58:36 AM PST by tomnbeverly

The Insanity that has taken over on this forum, when it comes to the potential GOP nominees, is bordering on Psychotic.

1. John McCain and Mitt Romney are both good and decent men.

2. Either one being the GOP nominee is a far cry better then the Surrender Monkeys on the other side.

I only ask that we do not stray into that Liberal arena of Personal destruction. I have listened to Sean and Rush and I blame them for engaging this tactic in our party.

We should never have to tear one candidates record down to promote the other. For that reason alone Ronald Reagan would be turning over in his grave.

... and Hillary is?

...McCain's soul sister.

What if Thompson, Hunter, or Tancredo were his running mate?

... Hillary or Obama will select at least two Supreme Court justices.

She will appoint judges who make Ruth Buzzi Ginsberg look like William F. Buckley.

IMHO, She is psychologically unsuited for the highest executive job in the world.

She will surrender to our Islamist enemies.

She will bring Bubba back into the White House, with nothing to do.

She is a Marxist, a true believer in the superiority of the state over the individual.

She will enact socialized healthcare. Though unconstitutional, it will pass Scotus scrutiny.

She will raise income & social security taxes on high earners.

She will happily trade cutting edge, high technology for Communist Chinese money.

She will bring to power academics who think capitalism is a crime.

She will make sure the US never becomes energy independent.

I see you are running out of cogent arguments, and are reduced to name-calling. Very childish of you, don't you think?

I agree, this place has become almost unbearable. I said almost of course. I still come by to get the latest news, but I stay off any Romney/McCain threads for the most part because the hatred for both men on the part of some is just creepy and distructive.
We are in for a very, very long eight years when we choose 100% purity over making a practical decision to keep the Hildabeast/Obamanation out of the White House.
I realize the choices stink on our side, but you dont cut off your nose to spite your face in politics. Hoping for a Clinton backlash inspired revival among the conservative movement is a very risky approach. I also think many talk show hosts have an agenda that they dont fully reveal. The Clinton presidency was good for their ratings. They might want that back.

The Problem we have is with all the tearing down its gonna be near impossible to unite after Tuesday...

McCain should have thought of that when he was busy kissing Democrat rear ends for the past 8 years...

If the conservatives loose control of the Republican party

If???

Conservatives lost control of the Republican party a long time ago when they went with a "compassionate" conservative twho turned out be fairly liberal with the open checkbook and open borders.

I WILL NEVER VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN. NEVER. PIGS WILL SPROUT WINGS AND FLY BEFORE I GIVE MY VOTE TO THE SPONSOR OF MCCAIN-FEINGOLD AND KENNEDY-MCCAIN. YOU CANNOT MAKE EXCREMENT PALATABLE BY ADDING A TEASPOON OF SUGAR. EXCREMENT IS STILL EXCREMENT.

I am a Conservative first, vote republican most of the time, but refer to myself as independent.

I vote for the person or the lesser of two evils.

Our party? No thanks, after 40 + years of voting, I am disgusted with both parties.

Of the total of five leading candidate from both parties, would I want one of them in my home?

NO !

Would I vote for one of the five?

NO !

Our party,,,,,, as a Conservative I am no longer a member of "Our Party".

McCain:
1. Considered running as VP to John Kerry(a very liberal senator)
2. Would not make Pres. Bush’s tax cuts permanent.
3. McCain/Feingold= limits free speech
4. Ran amok with the team of 14 who made it difficult for conservative issues to pass.
5. Amnesty bill!!!
6. Found Alito to be too conservative.

* The list can go on for this man. To me he is not much different for the 2 running on the democratic side.

> If McCain wins, it does no good to attack him, when we
> are going to have to work with him.

Sorry, if McCain wins, he will try to minimize and punish conservatives. He will betray us.

> He might even put a conservative on the VP slot, to
> reunite the Party.

McCain is not interested in uniting the Republican party, only in “reaching across the aisle” to work with, that is, collude with, Democrats to implement THEIR policies.

McCain’s track record is FULL of betrayals like this. The Mainstream Media loves to call him a “Maverick” because of his record of betrayals to his own party.

The liberal press loves him, because he has made a career out of backstabbing conservatives, voting against his party, and voting with the Democrats to institute ODIOUS poliies.

McCain-Feingold attack on free speech, known as the Campaign Finance Reform Act.

Here is a clue. The first amendment was written SPECIFICALLY to protect POLITICAL and RELIGIOUS speech, NOT pornography and blasphemy! The McCain-Feingold CFR act is a DIRECT ATTACK on POLITICAL speech!!

The McCain-Kennedy Immigration Reform Bill was defeated thanks to tens of thousands of phone calls and letters from angered constituents. This bill would have granted amnesty to MILLIONS of illegal aliens and opened the doors for their RELATIVES! McCain was the chief architect and supporter of this bill.

As an aside, if you intimated to one of the nation’s founders that the first amendment was written to protect pornography and blasphemy, I submit that some of the more feisty ones would have challenged you to a duel!

McCain opposed Bush’s tax cuts.

McCain opposed Bush’s SCOTUS appointments.

McCain opposed Bush, and most of the rest of his party, at almost every turn!

McCain threatened to switch parties!

It was rumored that he was seeking the VP spot on the Kerry presidential bid.

At least the party will unite in opposition to a president Hillary or Obama, and conservatives will continue have an active voice and role in the GOP and the Nation.

With McCain at the presidential helm, conservatives in the GOP will be silenced and minimized.

For me, McCain is NO SALE!

We should never have to tear one candidates record down to promote the other

Well, just what, pray tell, should one candidate be contrasting with the other if not their record?

I'll tell you something else, Romney may have changed his mind or matured or flip-flopped, whatever you what to call it, on a few things, but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING compares to the destructive legislation that McCain has advanced. McCain-Feingold isn't just bad, it's unconstitutional, and the amnesty bill- well, need I say more?
When it comes down to the national though, without a republican majority, we can't risk having Hillary or Obama choosing supreme court justices, and we don't want them fighting the jihadis (because they won't fight them).
Now I agree with some FReepers who say that the republicans in congress will not fight a republican president with bad ideas- but a democrat president with a democrat congress is even worse.
Even though McCain has only one issue different than a democrat (WOT) that issue is very very important.

EXACTLY! If the country is going to go down the tubes, I want it to be under Democratic “leadership.” And make no mistake, the country is heading down the tubes.
