Insanity on FR (Vanity)

The Insanity that has taken over on this forum, when it comes to the potential GOP nominees, is bordering on Psychotic.
1. John McCain and Mitt Romney are both good and decent men.
2. Either one being the GOP nominee is a far cry better then the Surrender Monkeys on the other side.
I only ask that we do not stray into that Liberal arena of Personal destruction. I have listened to Sean and Rush and I blame them for engaging this tactic in our party.
We should never have to tear one candidates record down to promote the other. For that reason alone Ronald Reagan would be turning over in his grave.

Sorry, I will NEVER vote for John McCain. He is a mean-spirited, backstabbing, egotistical little man. He is not fit to command. If the frightened old Rockefeller blue-bloods in the Republican party nominate this sorry excuse for a candidate, then to paraphrase Reagan, I did not leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me.

This is supposedly a conservative forum.
It would be insane if anyone around here thought the word conservative regarding our choices this year.

If the conservatives loose control of the Republican party, which would happen under a McCain candidacy, then many of those things that FReepers have been arguing for, and fighting for, will be settled. The fact that Romney or McCain are decent men does not mean they should be the nominee. Do we need a Republican party which is just the Democratic party minus support for the military? Taxes, gun control, illegal immigration, gay marriage, abortion, off the table, settled issues? That sounds like defeat.

I don’t blame Sean or Rush. I blame “true” conservatives who didn’t see months and months ago that it would come down to a two person race and encouraged the fracturing of the conservative vote by peeing in everyone’s punch bowl.

At what point do we say, ENOUGH!
I’m dumbfounded at the prospect of John McCain being our nominee.
I will NEVER vote for him, NEVER. If he is our nominee, I will withhold my vote or vote for a third party.

Sometimes you have to feel the heat in order to appreciate the cold. It would appear that Republicans, not true conservatives have become complacent and think that America needs to become more like liberals to win elections.
Be damn careful what you so called moderates wish for. When you sit down to make a turd sandwich, don’t start crying because someone wants to make you eat it!

Sean and Rush are not leading this one; They are following.
While he is a genuine war hero, I see no evidence that McCain is currently a good or decent man.

We should never have to tear one candidates record down to promote the otherOh, for crying out loud.
How would you suggest that contrasts be drawn then?
To: tomnbeverly
Both are RINOs...but McCain is stupid and mentally unbalanced. Therein lies the distinction that makes his candidacy fatally flawed.
To: tomnbeverly
Surrender Monkeys unite! ‘08 is lost so we must salvage what we can to put the “Grand” back into the GOP in ‘12 or the entire nation will be lost forever.

Just about anyone on the (R) side would be better than those two Stalinists on the (D). I would feel better if Mit were in the lead, though.
