"When they came for smokers I didn’t say anything... I wasn’t a smoker."

Watch the nanny staters squeal when something THEY enjoy is banned. I for one would love to see some anti-smoking activist porker get refused service.

"Burp. Whaaaaa?"

"You can't serve me? You might get arrested? What kind of freekin country is this?"

Good..fat people are disgusting. We need more bars and restaurants that cater to hot babes in bikinis and mini-skirts (sarcasm off).

When they came for smokers I didn’t say anything... I wasn’t a smoker.

Consider this new legislation a warning shot across the bow for what is in store under nationalized health care.

“Is this a tongue-in-cheek bill, meant to point out how absurd the war on obesity has become? Or do lawmakers actually believe the myths that gluttony is the cause for obesity and that it is the government’s role to force people to eat and live how it deems best?

I called lead author, Rep. Mayhall, and asked if this was serious legislation or tongue-in-cheek to make a point. He kindly took a moment to answer my question while the legislature was in session. He said that while, regrettably, he doesn’t believe his bill will pass, this is serious. He wrote it, he said, because of the “urgency of the obesity crisis and need for government action.” He hopes it will “call attention to the serious problem of obesity and what it is costing the Medicare system.”

So, yes, this is for real and these elected officials actually believe this stuff.”

I agree with you. I wonder if there is legislation on tobacco restrictions and tax increase on tobacco in the state and a point was being made.

There would be only 7 people left in Mississippi who can eat at a restaurant. Should be able to get good seating.

OK, this is bill introduced by three people one of whom is a Dim. It has not been passed or even released from committee or whatever they do in Miss. Haley Barbour is the gov. Hold your fire.

BTW, TSG says it it likely DOA and I do believe the Pubs control the Miss. legislature.

Hey, I’m all over this bill!! I’m skinny and with no fat people in line, I’ll get served faster!

I also want no vehicles larger than mine to get gasoline. Woo Hoo! End of traffic congestion for me.

This proposed law is in flagrant violation of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act. Not to mention the brave souls battling anorexia.

If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny. Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826)
