PARIS (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama told a French magazine in an interview that if he wins office, he will hold a summit with Muslim countries to better the United States' image in the world.

"Once I'm elected, I want to organize a summit in the Muslim world, with all the heads of state, to have an honest discussion about ways to bridge the gap that grows every day between Muslims and the West," Thursday's edition of Paris Match quoted Obama as saying,

Sheik Obama could also win the grand prize next November. I think that many of us here on FR don't realize the strength of the attraction that Sheik Obama possesses for so many young, liberal, and impressionable Americans.

If the pollsters and political prognosticators are correct the November election will see a much larger turnout by young voters than any presidential election in recent memory. I would like to be able to view that as a positive indication of newly found maturity and civic responsibility in the younger generation, but my still vivid memories of the flower child era tell me that it's more likely to be an indication of the exact opposite.

It bears repeating, be afraid, be very afraid, because the nightmare of an Obama administration could actually become a reality, it really could.
