It has been some time since the 1996 Elections where a Bill Clinton won re-election over Robert Dole. While Dole was a leader in the Senate and in many ways a decent guy he would never have been the first choice of people on the right. However, it seemed that it was "his turn" and that he was somehow owed this opportunity.
He could not have been a more lack luster candidate.
Are we to get the same from McCain? The field of candidates does not impress most on the right...but least of all do I see McCain being the one to sweep us off our feet in any general election.
Clinton got 850,000 votes in a non contested state. That old man is going down hard. He looks weaker and sicker everytime I see him. The conservatives here won’t even vote for him
I voted for Dole but I was so frustrated with him because he hardly campaigned with vigor. He could have done so much more. He was not energized and he didn’t get the electorate fired up. I thought he was better than Clinton, but he was just not saying what he needed to say, and do the right things he needed to do to vote. I remember listening to Rush talk about what Dole needed to do, or point out, or go on the offense and defense with, and you just never saw his campaign do these effective things. I was sitting there saying “YES SAY THAT! DO THAT!” And they wouldn’t do it.
McCain ain’t Dole. He’s more like Carter of Ford.
BD may have been flaccid but he is not insane.
BS, he will lose by more than 10 states.
Great. America ends up with a dirty mop in the face. I can hardly wait.
Sure. And Mitt Romney is our John Kerry. Whoop-tee-doo.
I think McCain will pick Crist as his VP—as he needs someone younger (but then again, who isn’t?). I’d like to see Hunter as the VP, though—that way if McCain loses,,,,it will give Hunter lots and lots of PUBLIC EXPOSURE—and set him up as a front-runner for 2012.
You can say it - whoever wins runs against either the b1tch or “ears”.
McCain won’t be her or Obama . Either one will mop the floor with him We are in for sad times my friend.
Sadly, it’s looking that way. Looks like I’ll vote for Mitt next week — hopefully he can pull off a major upset.
lolol.
I meant to write “to win” rather than “to vote”. Got ahead of myself in thought.
Maybe McCain will select Kemp as his running mate—and then it WILL be a redux!!!..lol
If Hillary takes the nomination, I believe McCain will win (I think that’s what the polls are saying too.)
Is that a good thing...no...but know McCain would be better than Hillary when it comes to fighting the WOT and supporting our troops.
Yes!
Next question
I agree. We have no one who will come close . The Great American Socialism Experiment is on the way folks. The Muzzies will be dancing in the streets when they see a Democrat back in the White House. We’re doomed.
No, Dole was far to genteel, he made the Bronx Dodgers comment and fell of the stage, he sort of cooked his own goose, the MSM ate him alive after that happened.
McCain is a bit more viscious and to be blunt, he doesn’t think he “needs” Conservatives, at least not all of them to vote for him.
I liked Bob Dole, don’t care for McCain, maybe the country has moved to the left after all...someone take down the Flag won’t you?
This stinks folks
One major difference between Bob Dole and John McCain. I voted for Dole. I will not vote for McCain.
Warn the interns, Bubba is on his way back to the Oval Office!!!
