I spent 3 years in England, north of Oxford. Some guys got a surprise when they asked to buy a ‘rubber’. They weren’t expecting an eraser!

Get Mrs. Cheney to Florida, quickly.

Let me correct myself: It’s Liz Cheney, not Lynne, that endorsed Mitt. It’s the same difference I suppose, though Lynne is more well known. Either one wouldn’t have made too much difference but every little bit helps, particularly the Thompson connection.

Very true. I’d love it if someone would ask McCain, “You said we needed XXX. We didn’t do XXX, but have had great success anyways. Now you are claiming to be the Father of Success - aren’t you lying?”

Oh well, I can dream.

I think most have not voted yet, and Romney is surging, just as he did in Michigan.

They just ran a Huckster campaign commercial here. No crosses in it. He promises to lead the fight to abolish the IRS and save jobs.

Now theya re running an Obama commercial. He’s got Larry Tribe in it. It’s all about him being a uniter and a doer. McCaskil is in it. She has endorsed him.

"I’m not saying I agree that Obama is the better candidate; but, nor will I hide my head in the sand about his strengths as a ‘rat candidate."

Agree absolutely. When Obama speaks in hopeful and soaring terms addressing themes that transcend racial and economic and political division, he taps into strains of hope that cut across the full political spectrum, with skills not seen since Ronald Reagan and Martin Luther King. Although I know his mis-guided world and economic views are as wrong-headed as Jimmy Carter's, his communication talents are awesome, and should never be underestimated or discounted. He would be a formidable nominee.

The article referenced (by Fred Barnes, believe it or not) is a MUST read. Behind the scenes of Pres. Bush’s surge decision process. Shows his undeniable strength of conviction and savvy. It was his deft hand and resolute
faith in the mission that made the difference. Brilliant ..

One of the money passages .. there are a few:

“He was never alarmed, Bush said, by the opposition to a surge from nearly everyone in the political community, the media, and the foreign policy establishment—everyone, he pointed out, “except for the people inside the White House I trust.

We’ve been in this foxhole now for seven years, and we’re battle-tested, hardened veterans of dealing with the elite opinion in Washington, D.C.”

Watching CNN after the debate the other night, I heard a voice-over going to break: “Tune in for President Clinton’s State of the Union Address”.

I dismissed it as a slip of the tongue.

But now I just heard it again! Where’s that vaunted editorial fact checking staff?!

Bama does not hate America like the Rat Old Guard. Harpy and the Dem Establishment dispises this Country, so he is a step in the right direction.

When you have no ideas, flowery speeches work just fine.

LOL

Sounds like when a Brit asks a yank “can I bum a fag?” that most certainly gets a strange look.

In case anyone is wondering it means can I nick/have a cigerette

"Notice how the Hildebeast or any of her surrogates were no where to be found this morning?"

Actually, she was on Face the Nation. But then I guess that qualifies as " "no where to be found.

It was his deft hand and resolute faith in the mission that made the difference.

Nah, STARWISE, it was all due to McCain. He told us so.

It sure was strange to see Maureen Dowd excoriating Slick Willie like she did. I know it’s calculated, and she’s a big fat liar, and no one cares about her anyway; it was just odd to hear the words coming out of her mouth. She must have a tough time when her lord & master NYT and her lord & master Bill Clinton are at odds.
