I am book marking this thread for later as I do not have the time to read it all carefully right now.

After a cursory look at it though, it appears to me to be accurate.

I admit, when I saw the words “Romney” and “truth” in the
same headline, you made me look...

Then I realized it was just another puff piece article to
try to insulate Mitt from Truth.

Has he actually had a Truth Inoculation? It doesn’t seem
to stick to him anymore...

As advocates for life, social conservatives should welcome changes like this, and we must recognize that some of the best advocates for life can be those—like Ronald Reagan and Henry Hyde—who were wrong in the past.

AMEN!

Changing the hearts and minds is much more effective than changing the law, and we should eagerly embrace those who "see the light!"

Amazing how Romney’s record has been distorted by the left and on the right by his political enemies. He will still win, in my opinion, as the truth overwhelms the lies.

Very succinct article. I’m sure there will be those who will come on this thread & tell us how French was bought off, or how he’s sold his soul. A shame really. This article should really put into perspective the angle that these anti-Mitt’s are coming from & from whence their info by in large comes from.

Mitt is a conservative. Period. He may not have always been the conservative that he is now, but then again, Reagan wasn’t always the conservative he ended up being either. Will Mitt follow through w/ what he says he’s going to do? Whether you like his past or not, one thing is very consistent, he follows through w/ what he says he’s going to do. If he does, we’ll have a fine conservative in the White House & someone that espouses our beliefs as a whole.

Really, if he follows through, does anything else matter?

Finally, a comprehensive and sensible response to the Romney haters on FR .... although I doubt any of them will bother to read it.

Thanks for the post.

O rly?

Seems Mitt has some life to him after all. I still think since Thompson and Hunter dropped, our best bet is Mitt/Huck ticket. Maybe Mitt/Newt.

Sure makes it easier when we only have as many running candidates as the dems do.

If it comes down to a battle of principles, I’m thinking we’re looking at Mitt vs Obama for our final matchup.

Mitt seems to have something. I’m hoping. I’d hate to be rooting for McCain/Rudy in two weeks.

Obama just strikes me as the most “in tune” democrat. He’s got very little experience to renig on, and has been polar in all politics to conservatism. He may be wrong, but he doesn’t change much.

Given the clear record, it’s a shame that we have to waste any time on debunking this stuff again and again.

Conservatives aren’t going to be elected to dogcatcher if we continue the habit of eating our own.

I’ll proudly hold my nose and vote for Mitt for President of the United States after we slap down Mr. MeCain from the Republican nomination and the “Maverick”, who in one last finger to Conservatives and Rush Limbaugh, formally joins the Democrat party as the Vice President selection of the Democrat challenger.

Nitpick: This “news” is 2 weeks old.

That having been said, I too am voting for Mitt, in Fred’s absence.

We should not permit distortions, leftist-style scare tactics, and identity politics to obscure the truth about Mitt Romney—a man of principle who is and will be the best conservative standard-bearer in 2008.

“I was a Social Liberal. I voted for John Anderson for president and Michael Dukakis for governor." Brian Camenker

Camenker can't even pass his own litmus test. He voted for gay loving, baby butcher politicians. His slander of Romney says more about him than it does Romney. It sounds like he hasn't fully given up his lefty ways.

Unfortunately, Camenker has done a lot of damage among conservatives in their opinion of Romney. He was helped along by the DNC who had his article front and center on their webpage for 6 months in late 2006 and early 2007 after Romney declared. It has been promoted on this site by individuals who are paid by other campaigns.
