He said something a little iffy yesterday. Something about letting the economy take care of itself. Only heard FOX version. Not the quote. And it surely could be taken out of context. If he did say something like that, it's not helpful. even if it's essentially true. IT just feeds into the myth about him not really being a doer.
Other than that, I think everything I have heard him say. every thing that I have read, that he has written. Outstanding and right on spot.

C’mon South Carolina - GET IT RIGHT this weekend! Romney in NV and Fred in SC would make my weekend!
To: DManA
I almost wish hed say something I disagree with. Hes almost too good to believe. Funny you should say that. When he was considering running, I read a little about him and decided I was for him, based on his positions. I'd seen him in movies but that was meaningless for me; I'd NEVER watched Law and Order; and in fact I was burned once by voting an actor into the Governor's mansion not long ago here in CA, so was a little untrusting of that career switch (Reagan notwithstanding). Only later did I learn that acting came to him, that he had not sought it at all.
So from then on, I told people I was thinking about this guy Thompson, at least until he disappointed me.
Well, I am still waiting for him to disappoint me. It seems that I become more impressed with him nearly on a daily basis. I pray he will make it through tomorrow.

Huckabee also was cited in the CNN of altering the Constitution to make it in accordance to God’s standards. I am sure he has an explanation for that one too.

No worries, if Huck, MYTH, or McINsane are the nominee lots of people will still vote for them because they have a little R next to their name.
And if one of those 3 weasels actually wins we get to watch them work with the socialists to raise taxes, pull out of Iraq just before the mid terms and pass a universal health care mandate policed by the IRS.
And you thought Obama and Hillary were bad.

Oh my gosh, that article ROCKS like a rockin’ chair! I laughed my butt off and I only love Fred even more after that.
Everyone read Uriah’s link from Newsweek about the best campaign question Fred got! His answer is even better!

I don’t want to be correct. I want the hearts and minds of South Carolina Republicans to be motivated by what is best for our country, and to vote Fred Thompson tomorrow. I will be PRAYING. I fear, after what he said on Hannity, that he won’t go further if he comes in 3rd. We NEED him to keep going but he needs a good showing.
I just hope the voters there will stop being attracted by the shiny cross Huckster keeps dangling before their eyes!

Always at Huckabee. Never at the leader in SC.Well it WAS Huckabee who made the stupid comment to which Fred is referring.

The Constitution is Not a Living, Breathing Document Ironically, the following is true...
"The Declaration, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are currently housed in the National Archives. All three are written on parchment... Parchment is treated animal skin, typically sheepskin."
Which means that once upon a time, the parchment the Constitution is written on used to be a living, breathing animal... ;-)

Minor quibble, but I believe the term Fred was looking for is "originalist", not "strict constructionist."
An originalist interprets the Constitution (or any other statute) based on the meaning the words had when the Constitution, or the Amendment in question, was ratified. A strict constructionist takes the literal meaning of the language of the Constitution or statute without viewing it in its context.
One can be both, but they mean two different things. I think just about everyone here would agree that originalism is a good thing. Strict constructionism, on the other hand, is usually a bad idea in its application.
It's a common mistake.

We are looking too much at the personalities here in these polls; what the people being polled seem to be saying if they are listening to the candidates at all is that they no longer want conservatism, they want to crawl back into the womb.
Conservatism itself may have become a living, breathing creature changing before our eyes.

A living breathing Constitution is DOA. Not a Constitution, a suggestion. It does little more than enumerate the branches of government and assign names to offices.
To: fieldmarshaldj
strict constructionists who believe the Constitution has a fixed meaning that can be applied to cases that come before the courts today. They do NOT believe the Constitution is a living, breathing document, whose meaning, constantly changing with the sifting sands of our culture, can be determined and applied by unelected judges. BumPing!!
